Why would the hospital discharge Margaret into the care of Peter Tobin when it was pretty obvious that he was the one who caused her injury? I just don't get it. I can understand why Margaret wouldn't tell anyone but why wouldn't the hospital have put the pieces together? I don't think the two killers are the same, they seem to target slightly different victims and use different methods of killing. At the same time though, Peter couldve dyed his hair when the police sketch came out. I know that doesn't explain the height issue but still.

Here's my theory about the Bible John/Peter Tobin connection. I do think they are the same person and here is my explanation. It is very unlikely that Peter Tobin only committed the crimes that he has been charged with throughout his life when we consider his age. At the same time, there is something very peculiar about Bible John's criminal history as well; all of his victims were on their periods. I find it unlikely that he knew this about his victims when he approached them. It is also statistically very questionable that all the women he targeted just happened to be on their periods. Two explanations come to mind: 1. he would regularly pick up random women from the bar for sexual encounters and seeing three of these women on their periods infuriated him (sounds much like Peter Tobin I say) so he snapped and killed only them and did nothing to the other women or 2. these three women were only a fraction of his other murders but the style of murder was completely different BECAUSE they were on their periods - like he wanted the police to find them and to know why he committed these murders (hence making the towels very visible) as he made no attempt to cut up/hide/preserve the bodies, because to him these women were probably not worth the effort. I personally think the second theory is true - that the reason why we believe the two to be completely different people is because the psychology behind these two sets of murders is completely different - one set was committed by a Peter Tobin who wanted to see blood and the other set was by a Peter Tobin who was disgusted by the sight of blood. Two completely different motives, two completely different personalities and therefore two completely different styles of murder.

Peter Tobin has to be one of the worst killers in UK ever.....
@lizbraley71495 жыл бұрын
I feel like he is Bible John. 4 inches isn't THAT big of a height difference. Plus the bouncers at the Barrowland Ballroom all said he had brownish hair, in contradiction to Genie's description. Making him match the description almost perfectly, down to the second tooth. Also, even though those murders don't necessarily match the way he killed later on in life, those 3 would've been some of the first murders. That means he may not have known the most satisfying way for him. Also, and ik this is gross, but wouldn't the fact that Bible John only killed women on their period also point to a fascination with blood? I'm just saying it's too many coincidences for me... Also, that poor puppy 🙁
@dedefranzino38544 жыл бұрын
Liz braley I think this is the most likely explanation, to be honest. When citing all the differences between Peter and Bible John, the differences aren’t as grand and impossible when you weigh them against the similarities. And then taking into account the fact that he would’ve been in his twenties, it’s likely that those were his first few killings and he was still figuring out what he did and didn’t like. It lines up perfectly to me. But maybe we’ll just never know for sure. Either way, it’s all very interesting.

Elizabeth Marco so why aren’t the rest of the kids serial killers? I think psychopaths are born that way but the way they are raised can escalate their personalities.
@strawberrymaple6 жыл бұрын
I said have the potential- I think becoming a psychopath is the extreme and across that spectrum one would more generally see alcohol and drug abuse, promiscuity, low self esteem, violence, ect..The surrounding environment growing up really dictates ones later life, I mean it is scientifically proven. That is why in areas of poverty where a two parent household isn’t as stable, drug and alcohol abuse is much higher than in an area of stability. Now that being said, of course, there will always be exceptions.
@strawberrymaple6 жыл бұрын
Jess M I also think you have a point, in scientific communities it is a hotly debated issue of weather behavioral problems are inherited or if they are a product of abusive circumstances imprinted on a child. While I personally believe environment plays a larger role than genetics when it comes to behavior, I also know of people who were brought up very healthy, emotionally and physically, yet were troubled from the get go. No one size fits all.

The escalation from choking to more savagely beating his victims would make sense, especially given his fascination with blood. Maybe the first murders were more "instinctive" murders from his side but as his experiences grew he escalated it to more brutal modes of killing? And maybe the sketches got too close and he felt scared, which is why he started to hide the bodies instead of leaving them out ..

my hair is naturally the same color as tobin's but can look bright red in the sun or direct light (like the same color as eleanor's if not brighter). the lights in the car could have changed the color of tobin's hair. also, how tall were helen and jeannie? because as someone who's a bit over 5 feet, 5'6 could look like roughly 6 feet to me, especially if i wasn't paying attention to his height bc he's not my date.
@allisonnicole16593 жыл бұрын
It’s very likely. They said they were both quite petit. I’m 5’3 and when I see a guy a lot taller than me I’m just like “idk he’s probably about 6 foot” he also was dressed very nicely and a lot of men’s dress shoes add a boost. It could make up to a few inches difference. So if he was around 5’7-5’8 and was wearing a dress shoes with a little lift he could’ve looked around 6’0
