Sort of agree about the wife, but she could claim she feared it could be her if she didn't comply. And she claims she didn't harm them. She just didn't report it or take heroic measures. Which if true, is a lesser crime. Although it's clearly still a huge crime, as reflected in her sentencing. And she did eventually report all the crimes and co-operate, when confronted. As far as we know.

@@whatiswrongwithyou1936 the first episode is about the last victims, so we did hear about them first. The other victims were talked about in the second video because they weren't known to be the victims until Charlene's confession where she gave roughly remembered places of which each victim was found, how they were killed, and how they got the victims. Although I agree with you that Charlene wasn't necessarily the murderer and her only crimes were not saying anything and stopping it, she did help him lure in people and helped him be able to murder without a second thought. And yeah, she definitely could've tipped somebody off too. There's the argument that Charlene loved her husband so much she'd do anything for him, and that potentially she was brainwashed by him. However, she'd still need to have a twisted part of herself to accept what he was doing! There's no way a mentally sound person would help someone else rape and kill multiple people, married or not. She had the option to leave him and start a new life elsewhere, but apparently his desperation for sex slaves wasn't that big of an issue to her.. in my opinion her sentence should've been AT LEAST doubled.

It's so disturbing & horrifying how _easily_ a young person/child can be lured into a trap (by a complete stranger), or how many people accept rides from those they don't know when that's obviously one of the worst things you can do. I have particular contempt for the female partners of these serial killers... Another good example would be Myra Hindley (/Ian Brady). They take advantage of the the baseline 'trust' a lot of people (especially young people/children) have in women & use it to lure them to their torturous demise. No punishment we can carry out would be good enough.

Could you please look at the Cleo Smith case here in Australia? After 19 days kidnapped she was found alive today in a locked room in a house! Went missing from her family’s tent. So interesting and it’s just warmed the hearts of our country this morning waking up to that news that she is okay!!

Eh I’m a traffic survivor and for those three yrs I never had a chance like this girl did to get away. Eventually I was on drugs so bad that I didn’t think I would ever make it out alive and my life would be that way forever . I never lured girls in but there were young teen girls that were prostituting themselves already and were allowed to go lure other girls in , I wasn’t to be trusted cause I tried to kill myself and run every chance I got . Actually the first time I noticed I wasn’t being watched I ran . I thought everyone around there was being paid off to tell if one of us ran off I was so groomed and just scared . They ended up busting the ring and they didn’t believe me when I told or if they did it took five yrs for them to make an arrest cause LE showed up in a van and I got into the back and got to watch and listen to recordings they had so I could identify ppl and then of course I had to testify in court . It’s so common and u cannot trust anyone . So IMO I think the chic in this story is just as guilty as he is if not more cause she lured those girls in knowing what would happen to them .

I don’t understand how Charlene could speak to the victims knowing they’re about to be killed, especially giving them false hope by saying everything will be ok💔

Imo Charlene was totally complicit in the murders if other women and girls, even though she was abused with him which was awful, but she used her pretty white middle class womanhood to get off less on what she did.

This is truly one of the worst cases I’ve ever heard. And i watch A LOT of true crime videos/documentaries/shows etc. Charlene was just as guilty as him and she should have gotten the same punishment. She didnt have remorse or any guilt until SHE was in trouble and that tells me she is just as sick. May all these victims RIP and i hope their families have some peace.

as odd as this may sound, I hope that one day there's nothing else for her to make one of these videos about. but there will always be. people are horrible and always come up with new ways to harm others

It really makes me think what happened to Charlene in her teenage years for her to do such a 180. Those kinds of volte/faces are never without a reason. And given what toxic, unhealthy feelings she had towards her husband, even knowing what he was capable of just corroborates the idea that sg had really fucked her up in the head and the rest was just consequences. Sure, she was also a victim but she had a family, she had an out, she had somewhere to go and was in an actual position to ask for help (living w her father). While victims oftentimes don't feel they can leave, her situation was very different in a lot of respects and I get the sense she actually didn't want to, not out of fear but because of that unhealthy attachment to Gerard. Either way, she should've been locked up for life.

Victims don't nap while other victims are being attacked
