The police didn't think it was suspicious at all that a "heavily pregnant" woman got so drunk the night before that she couldn't figure out which car they took to their date? That's just a big red flag for me straight away!

For those commenting on Charlene drinking while pregnant, the US Surgeon General only started warning against it in 1981. People any have known, but it wasn’t nearly as big of a no-no as it is now.

I was so happy to hear his work reported him missing. So many times at places I've worked people would just stop showing up and no one ever did anything; just assumed they'd "quit" by not showing up. Was so bizarre to me.

The dean’s list is actually really good achievement basically means they have a high grade point average close to 4.0 with letter grades it’s like all A’s.

Yep and you can get "with hono(u)rs" on your degree/diploma if you are constantly keep your grades high to be Dean's List from when you begin to when you graduate. In Canada, anyone with 80% and above is to be considered on the Dean's list

There’s Dean’s List, graduating with Honors if you continuously end up on the Dean’s List and then if you have a really high GPA at graduation then you receive summa cum laude or magna cum laude.

As bad as it seems now, back then it was very normal to drink and smoke during pregnancies, usually why they didn't think too much into it

@@Tremasis not so much to drink. This was the 80s. I was born in 75 and my mom never touched so much as caffeine. In the 80s, more women smoked, sure. But by then, we were becoming quite aware of the dangers of heavy drinking in pregnancy.

Obviously I feel awful for all of the victims but listening to this and only being halfway through I feel terrible for Andy from the first part. Imagine being the last one to see his friends and the thought that maybe he could of saved them somehow. Not saying he could of but the thought he could of helped in some way and saved there lives would haunt u forever.

He had such foresight to get the plate number, then going back to see if the car was there. He was a great friend, also perceptive and smart. I bet this situation greatly impacted his life and yes the “what if’s” etc. Very sad.

This is definitely one of those times where someone did everything they could with the information they had. He could not have known that they were in trouble. They didnt tell him anything. What a good friend though, even after being somewhat shirked he made sure to check on them.

Hi Eleanor, can you cover the case of Gregory Villemin? He was a 4 year old French boy who was abducted and murdered in 1984. The case was infamous mainly due to threatening calls letters to family for years prior to the murder, evidence pointing to family involvement, and police mishandling and incompetence.

If I was the andy I would have done the same thing. Because non of them said “help” or relief that their friend was there and could let them out of the car. I would have just tried to remember the licence plate and wait to see if they came back for the car. I’d also tried to remember the peoples faces.

Honestly it’s not even just true crime, when I hear about a shooting I just say “well that’s America for you” and I realize that sounds horrible and it does.

I want you to know that I just subscribed to your channel like a month ago and the main reason I did was I love how you show absolute admiration for the victim most of the time like you genuinely care about the victim and it displays just in your reactions to talking about them you giggle you laugh and you smile and it just brings you joy and that made me subscribe instantly.

I’ve been scrolling while listening, and I haven’t seen anyone mention the first woman mentioned (don’t remember names and it’s really late) and how she was such a powerhouse! I can’t comprehend how much she was able to do while balancing everything. @@jessicacampbell3263 Gayaygo is a weird way to pronounce it, I haven't heard that. I feel like this looks like a situation where you would naturally pronounce it as a short a, not long a, so I find that weird. In Spanish it is specifically g-ah-y-ae-go, so it sounds like g-ie-ae-go.

The Dean's List Award is for students who maintain a 4.0 GPA or perfect GPA throughout each semester in school. It is one of the highest awards you can get in college. Atleast that's how it was in my medical school for myself. I maintained Dean's List as well. It just shows he was very intelligent and worked his butt off at school.

This was in the 80’s. FAS wasn’t a widely known thing quite yet. There were rumors of the affect of alcohol on unborn fetuses but it wasn’t mainstream until the 90’s. Wild to think about but true.

​@@Taewills Yeah my grandma had my mom in 1969 and she told me she often craved beer but she always forgot to buy it for herself at the store. I was like "uhh didn't you know alcohol was bad for the baby?" since you know that implies she would have drunk it if only she'd remembered to buy it lol And that's how I found out FAS hadn't been discovered yet back then
