My parents don’t even know all that has happened to me hell I barely know my parents. They have no idea and they will never because they didn’t build that type of relationship with me and I’m good on it because now it’s just fucking awkward as hell. In some cultures, including Russian, if a girl/woman dies before getting married, she will be buried in a wedding dress, but this ceremony, oh my gosh, next level crazy
@oleksandrzubchenko77393 жыл бұрын

I would like to share a bit of context for everyone about this case. It is believed in Asian culture, specifically old Chinese tradition that when a person died young before he or she was able to marry, the parents would try to find a spouse for them in death; to appease the recently deceased soul since he or she was robbed of a chance at life so early in their years. Unfortunately, no one really wanted to marry the dead because that’ll create a connection to the dead and the living spouse may be haunted for an unknown amount of time. So the parents, especially the higher class/wealthy, will buy, coerce, kidnap someone of the opposite sex, mostly likely to be similar in age with their deceased daughter or son, and proceed to wed the living to the dead. It is said that the living spouse will then be haunted by the dead ones in form of night terrors, hallucinations, visions… etc…

I have commented this on another post, but, 10 years a go i found my best friend dead. Soon after she died i started to get a recurring nightmare, that I'd killed her and buried her in my back garden. As time has gone on her body has decayed in my dreams but the fear of being caught remains. I wake up terrified til i realise i didn't kill her and she's not buried in my garden. Its been the same nightmare for nearly 10 years. At first i believed she was visiting me in my dreams and talking to me, until it got to the nightmares. I was diagnosed with ptsd shortly after she died as well as bpd from childhood sexual abuse. So it seems very likely he'd have ptsd and probably something else.

Damn, the kid got forced into a ghost wedding. This type of stuff use to happen in the extremely rural parts of China as well. They believe their deceased child cannot rest in the afterlife unless they are married. It's rare for people to want to go into a ghost marriage because ghosts are considered extremely bad luck and will haunt you.

Most likely, Moskvin, as a child, went to the usual funeral of an unmarried girl, where he soon saw a crowd of mourners begin to kiss the girl on the forehead, and someone pushed him to do it together with others (I am not from Russia, but in my area there is also a similar funeral tradition, and I absolutely do not understand why it terrifies foreigners here (although, probably, because, according to Moskvin, he was forced to do it), I do not see anything terrible in kissing a loved one goodbye), and then his childhood fantasy distorted this event as if he was attending some kind of satanic funeral, if I understood correctly the girl in the video where he was married to a dead girl. After all, it is hard to imagine that such a funeral could take place in the Soviet Union at that time, in a remote outback.

I’m curious if the funeral story was even was real. I haven’t finished this but so far this all sounds like schizophrenia. Especially the dreams that he believes are real. At 13 he would be able to know the difference between a nightmare and know there was no Natasha talking to him.
@VL-rh5tu3 жыл бұрын
I think his story could be real. Many religions have death related customs that include touching or even kissing the dead person, although it's usually someone they were close with.. Even marriages with or between dead people are a thing in some cultures. If I can remember correctly, Japan has (had) a custom of ghost marriages arranged between two dead people. I mean, none of the details are outrageously freakishly cult-like on their own, if you are familiar with different cultures' customs around death. Robes and hymns in strange languages are the least weird thing about this. Soviet Union was secularist, so even the customs of the Eastern orthodox Church might have been unfamiliar to Moskvin. It might have been a real funeral by some small religious community that still very much traumatised Moskvin, as he was a child and unfamiliar with these strange customs, let alone he was being forced to participate in them. The following nightmares probably were just as Eleanor suggested, his brain trying to understand the situation. Lastly, I must say, NONE OF WHAT I SAID IS MEANT TO JUSTIFY HIS LATER ACTIONS.
@nicolex90253 жыл бұрын
@@UnluckyOctopus I think it’s real, what makes me think this is because they spoke a language he didn’t know. It’s possible that wherever they were from, it could be a tradition like some here explained. But I think the dreams could be a result of trauma and maybe be symptoms schizophrenia like you said

You just explained the whole comprehension thing with the brain, and why it dreams of dark things we're trying to process. I haven't seen my dad in four years, he's incarcerated. And after he had gone to jail, I'd have bad dreams where he'd come back and try to talk to me. At first, I was happy to see him. I would cry and hug him, but, after the first year of having those dreams, I started to spite him. When he'd come back, I wouldn't even bat an eye at him. Eventually, I yelled and screamed at him. three years after that, I wouldn't even try to make an effort to talk to him, and neither would he. But, one dream last year, he came up to me and asked, "Why are you ignoring me? Why do you hate me? You haven't been talking to me." And I woke up. That was the last dream I had about him to this day.

Sounds like the second traumatic experience was probably a ghost marriage. In some countries if you’re unmarried you are often married off during the funeral so your soul can rest. This is normally to another dead person around your age, like there’s matchmakers who have a list of dead young people for this very purpose.

Chances are she thought he was a friend maybe even a special friend of her daughter. These are his recollections if a traumatic event. Kissing the corpse is a very common Eastern Orthodox funeral practice. So is having food there. They wear dark cassock/robes but he may also just be remembering dark funeral garb through a terrified child's prism. Look what happened to him the last time a stranger nabbed him off the street. As a parent and a widow, when you lose someone like that, you are out of your mind in grief. I showered my nieces and nephews with gifts - some new things some very random. I even hand someone his cologne. It's a weird life affirming coping mechanism. That said adults often force kids to do things like hug or dance with someone out of tradition and not explain or listen to the kid. I don't know if that is what happened. I think his child brain could not cope well with the experience. I think because of his past trauma, his body and brain was amped on adrenaline, so it filled in a lot of gaps and added to it over the years. Very sad.
