Great Video! I do like rise courses for quicker development, but I'm also not a massive fan of "packaging" content. I would much prefer having bitesize elements rather than having to open a course and search for the bit I want and I feel some learners are like this too. The One main issue with RISE if used too much is it all ends up looking the same and I think variety is the spice of life! I tend to use RISE for converting text heavy documents into more easily read courses (think if it as an alternative to ebooks) I then use Storyline for scenarios and slicker interactions supported by videos and infographics to give more of a blended learning experience.

Thanks for sharing, Geoff! I agree with everything you've mentioned here. In fact, while Rise is easier to use, I think it's actually harder to make something instructionally-sound. It's easy to just dump a bunch of content in it and call it "eLearning." When you're creating something that's mostly text, you have to be much more thoughtful in the design. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Very useful and perfect timing, since I’m single-handedly transforming ILT courses into blended with A LOT of eLearning modules and assessments. Thank you! I’ll definitely be using Rise, but with some SL blocks, so it will be easy to update.

As someone building a portfolio, can I settle for Articulate Rise or should I do both?

Which on is the best lms to host articulate storyline course? I have my storyline course ready and I want to host it on some lms or website. Annually there would be less than 100 learners enrolled. It would be great if you can provide some list or your preferred one?

Honestly, any LMS that supports SCORM content is good. However, I would check out LearnUpon. They're a great little LMS company, based out of Ireland.

Seems to get training on either one Storyline would be the way to go. Once that is mastered, rise should be a snap? Do u agree?

Great question! You are absolutely correct: get training on Storyline, and you’ll find that Rise is super easy to learn. Because Storyline is a fully custom tool, the learning curve is much steeper. You can learn arise in a couple of hours, just by playing with it.

Can you have narration in Rise 360?

While you can add audio, it’s not like other tools where you can sync the audio with animations or other effects. It’s simply gives you a simple audio player, where the learner has to click to play the audio.

RISE is literally like a beginner level eauthoring tool. Honestly I think it’s lame because like you said the options are so damn limited. Storyline offers flexibility and the scope to use your creativity is vast.
