I think the question should be : " have Action SA/ Rise Mzansi convinced us ordinary to citizens to ditch our votes for ANC/DA/ EFF?" My answer would be NO! They are still political apprentices, with a lot to learn. These two guys would get eaten up in a debate with an ANC or EFF counterpart, not a fault of their own but through the parties they represent and their policies. I don't get what Action SA and Rise Mzansi will bring that will shift the needle of Inequality and Poverty.

The citizens of a nation must function as board members, with the country operating akin to a corporation and the president serving as its CEO. Currently, we are in the process of selecting the next CEO to lead the nation forward. Board members should base their selection not on popularity, appearance, or rhetoric, but rather on achievements, ability to inspire productivity, and a forward-looking personality. When casting your vote, consider this: Will the CEO you choose be able to maximize the potential of our nation? Action SA seems right to me thus far.

You can ask any South African citizen who reside in areas around Lenz, they will tell you that low paying jobs like domestic work, handyman and other are reserved for Lesotho, Zimbos and other illegal immigrants. So one can't expect this guy to say anything about illegal immigration. Secondly, the moment a person enters a foreign country illegally, that person is breaking the law. I agree that the department home affairs shoulders blame but I can't agree with the idea that a person who is in this country illegally is innocent like Rise Mzansi suggest. I mean what is next, if someone steals my phone can i say the thief is innocent and be more angry at the police?

Foreign nationals account for less than 10% in south africa. In the uk about 15%, the US 20% and Qatar close to 90%!!! And yet these countries are doing incredibly well. There is nothing like a job reserved for a foreigner wena The real deal to be worried about is a working economy. Don't scapegoat foreign national for the incompetence of ANC. An economy should work with or without immigrants... rise mzansi is on point on this issue. Fix the economy by bringing investment and better jobs than being gardener will be abundant and will be taken by us who won't need a work permit to find a job!!!

@@mtha4996 1st of all the minister of home affairs has said, on record, that nobody knows the exact number of illegal immigrants in this country so I don't know where you got this less than 10% number that you are referring to. I mean when almost all SADEC and indeed most African countries are close to being failed state, add to that a couple of Asian countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh one can reasonable conclude that the number of illegal immigrants is way more than 6,2 million. 2ndly, no one is talking about foreign nationals in general, I don't have a problem with legal immigration. I'm not sure that you follow US news because if you did you would know that the issue of illegal immigration is a huge debate there, so much so that the governing party has realized how much important this issue is for ordinary Americans and will definitely be a deciding factor in the upcoming election they have decided to drop this open border policy.
@mtha499611 ай бұрын
@@sifisomthokozisimofokeng3906 Fair point. However, I still stand by the point that an economy should be functional with or without foreigners and that it's not true that if they are to be chased out that will solve 70% of our problems. So you have one master but different roles & responsibilities. Can we argue that this funding compromise and undermines democracy? I think there is no political party that is going to tell us here are the objectives of my funders and here are mine. I agree we still need to redefine and re structure the funding and donations policies. Let's us not forget typical form government can be relatively influenced by outside players. Outside players played a big role in orchestrating Apartheid governments. The outside players are still the same even today in the new government system. Other question in concern, is it always possible that this donation can be used as a form of money laundering scheme & investment hiding behind political parties?

It’s disheartening how parties can’t articulate how they can create jobs for anyone regardless of age or gender or sector. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s probably hard for some people to think outside the box in creating jobs to stimulate our economy because they too don’t understand poverty at its core. Whether we like it or not, this is the states duty before private business to ensure that there’s work for all.

I think a lot of people don't understand Irfaan's point about Zimbabwe. As a national government, foreign policy is one of the primary responsibilities. The ANC has been in bed with ZANU-PF for years and both conspicuously and covertly, have been propping up a government with very little claim to legitimacy (and before that, endorsing a highly authoritarian government). As _the_ hegemony within SADC, South Africa is highly responsible for minimising the migratory pressure by ensuring (to the best of its ability) that due process is being followed by union states. Simply put, South Africa's inaction is culpable in the Zimbabwean crisis. It matches logically to Ifraan's main point on the topic, that being that illegal immigration is a symptom of more systemic issues and a focus must be put on addressing those underlying issues (whilst also taking short term measures to curb the inflow of people). Very much appreciate the debate, a good showing from the two. Will be sharing!
