Electric BMX 200 mile range without pedalling

Here is the first video of my 750W 48V front wheel drive electric BMX. 25MPH top speed. Possible 200 mile range (unassisted) with added batteries. So far, range tests have been excellent and I've achieved 42 miles on a single charge using one of the 5 sets of batteries I have ready to be installed, with power left in reserve. Total weight of batteries is 21.5kg @ 100Ah ~48V. Tests with 100kg payload plus a third the batteries. 200 miles easily achievable with no pedalling and 80kg rider. 2.5 hour fast charger. Good range test on Saturday. managed a respectable 62 miles before I ran out of daylight. Still another 22 miles left in the battery. I'm thinking of using all my packs and going for a 200 mile range on one charge. Need a whole day to ride that far though. Watch this space and subscribe for the video!

I'm planning a 600 mile trip over 3 days in September to see what this bike is capable of. Will ride over a long weekend doing 200 miles a day on one charge. 2.5 hour charge at the hotel/hostel in the evening ready for the next 200 miles. The plan is to ride from Felixstowe to Matlock in Derbyshire on day one. Then down to Salisbury on day two and then home on day three. A total of almost 600 miles. I'll be carrying 100Ah of power so the bike will be heavy but what a trip! Any takers??

You need a lightweight 250w motor, that's what I have with a 22amp controller and a 55 volt 13ah battery, my mtb only weighs 45 pound and does over 25mph with my 6' 2" 220 pound ass on it 😄

I am using multistar 20Ah 6S and 4S lipo from Hobbyking. 12S set up with 100Ah capacity.

Sorry to say but at almost 5kwh it should go much much further, at least double. There are bikes that can do 200 miles with just 3kwh

RC VIDZ the motor/controller kit was off ebay basically new but second hand. If you search 1KW motor you'll come across some Chinese sellers that do 20 inch wheels (change wheel size from the drop down list). The batteries are from hobbyking. Hope that helps. Don't forget to fit a torque arm or you may end up having a nightmare rewire of the hub motor!

Hi yes I'm using 12S Lipos in 2 X 6S 20Ah configuration or 3 X 4S 20Ah which I have both of. The BMX is a standard bike which I have added a front hub motor and mounted all the electrics to. I'm getting just over 42 miles on the pack at 25-26 MPH on the hub motor. The 20Ah pack weighs 5KG so every pack I add will add 5KG to the overall weight but an extra 42 miles to the range!

750w÷48v=15.62amps 100ah÷15.62=6.? Hours 25mph×6.?hours=150miles.

It's not drawing 750W at 25mph more like 500-550W.
