+Dragan M Its not that early developmentally, for one thing besides the powersource the electric bikes are more or elss using same parts are normal motorcycles. I'm sure there is some variation but most of the tech is the same, also while I agree its the future I don't think fuel based engines are going away any time soon IE it will be here for atleast another couple hundred years, which is a long time considering how fast technology is growing at. Although that doesn't mean we'll still be using gasoline in motorcycles 200 years from now, but i doubt it will all be electrical engines, fuel engines will get more advanced and cleaner and more sustainable as time goes on. Not trying to start an argument nor am I trying to flat out say your wrong, this simple my opinion/take on what you said. Enjoy and Ride safe :)

Hi Nate, I agree with a lot of what you said but Im not wrong,my statement is accurate. Read it again. My reference was to the worlds fastest electric motorcycle, it IS in its early developmental stages. It isnt until recently that production for consumer use with electric bikes has started to take off. That is what my reference was about. Gasoline will be around as long as people can make money from it, now theres competition so fuel economy will need to leap forward a huge amount in order to stay alive, ( that technology has been around for decades already). And you are not arguing you are stating facts and your opinion. Well done, we are both correct in this case, the only thing you got wrong was saying that I was wrong lol. Ride safe.

I mean look at what F1 has done! These V6 Turbos are so fuel efficient, theres no telling what these might achieve in the future. Although I must say that I´ll prefer an elctric car, once their range improves.

I am a huge fan of electric cars, and a fan of motorsport (and a former trial rider, google it if you're clueless). Like apparently everyone else (judging from the comments) I found the lack of engine noise striking and quite disappointing, and I now find myself emotionally distressed. There is no doubt in my mind that the world needs to adopt electric means of transportation, and now I'll add to the list of reasons that we must save fuel - for racing! ;-)

Oh there is sound! it's just much more like a high speed turbine. When I was a kid, all of the big racing hydroplanes were driven by huge 12 and 16 cylinder monster engines. They were replaced by liteweight jet turbines that may not make you deaf but they do scream and go very fast.

Factor in the CO2 from drilling for oil on the sea floor, burning oil in the engines of tanker ships to get it to shore, refining it into gasoline in a refinery, then trucking it nationwide to get it to gas stations. Gasoline doesn't appear by magic at gas stations, you can't leave that aspect out of calculations when comparing.

Making an electric car sexy is one thing, making sure the batteries, etc, can withstand the G forces and shaking and heat generated is another thing. I'd feel safer in a car that everything was tested not just "how fast can it go before the battery blows up". And to bad they aren't actually going to sell these things, for a reasonable cost if they do.

i own a zero fx electric bike .have it for 4 years now .. and i assure you its tons of fun stealth , no maintanace and fckng fast .. it areal street ninja and with knubbies it very cool on a dirttrack .. through the woods .. Honda's FCX gets 240 mile range. I would say that's not a short range. And hydrogen is also faster to refuel than electric to recharge. My opinion is that we should research more hydrogen fuel cell tech than just pure battery-electric, since we apparently already have a head start on the electric powertrain.

Oh I want the bike. I would guess it would not take quite as long to charge as a car. Plus power to waight on a bike is crazy so you don't need 2 tons of battery to make it go. Talk about saving money. And it looks good. Wish I could buy one. Or just the motor to put it in a bike I like lol.

There's some truth in that statement but Electric powered vehicles have an astounding acceleretion cause of their torque. Electric engines have their peak torque right from the get go unlike internal combustion engines. Things aren't always black and white so you must be more open-minded :)

Electric bikes, thus far, suffer from very limited range. The car might be slightly slower, but it will almost certainly have a significantly longer range. The Tesla Model S P90D has over twice as much "horsepower" as this car, but I don't know how they compare weight-wise. JW3HH
