I've been a long time EV enthusiast and have been following the TKO since the beginning. This vid was awesome in showing how far the bikes and the event have come. I'm so happy to see where EV's are heading and am so looking forward to the future. I can't wait till EV tech makes sense for bigger bikes and to eventually see price parity. Great job guys.
@ChargedCycleWorks2 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! The “modded Varg” bike was actually a full-size bike conversion. That tech is getting better and will be built into more bigger bikes in the future. The only downside is you need a donor bike, but those are also very easy to acquire at a great price now.

Thanks for this awesome summary of the bikes! Charged Cycle Works is really helping us learn about all the electric options available today. Glad I got to go, had my hands full with kids but got a chance try the EM bikes. The Escape XR is the bike to beat for this type of riding and its next bike on my list. Hate I didnt race again this year but it gave me that little extra time to figure out my future plans and its no question the XR is in it haha. Somehow I finished with my 19/16 light bee but those EM, varg, Ultra are just another type of bike completely. Glad I waited on pulling the trip on the Ultra. Great summary/review of the bikes.

I just picked up a E-Ride PRO SS, coming from the desert dirtbike world. Glad to see one of them in this. It looked so much smaller than the other bikes with 19F/R tires. Those other bikes seemed liked straight up Full size Emotos. I guess when these classes get packed, they can divide them by Battery, Tire size or ? I fought the EMoto for so long, i finally gave in, and its a blast. Still keeping my Dirtbikes, just nice to have an option to ride locally.

What’s best wheel setup for 2024 Surron lbx (off road; trail riding)
@@ChargedCycleWorks if I already have the stock 19…why buy another 19? Is the warp 19 better than the stock 19? Different dimension? Can I just buy the 16? Is there a reason 16 rear is better than 19 rear? How about 17/14 setup? Thanks in advance.
@ChargedCycleWorks2 ай бұрын
@@Alex-oy6wbit is a higher quality front wheel however, you can just upgrade to a rear 16” we do have that option as well on our website. The 16/19 is by far the best option for trail riding these smaller bikes, great tire options incredible traction, reduced pinch flats. Definitely highly recommend doing that. The 14/17 is good for shorter people and kids or teens, but if you fit onto the bike nicely with the stock 19/19, 16/19 is the way to go

Dust moto bike couldn't do 8-9 miles?
@ChargedCycleWorks2 ай бұрын
The bike that competed is not quite as updated as the latest bikes. They have a different battery in now, that produces way more range. Stock surron ultra bees were also doing battery swaps in this event. It’s a large and strenuous effort for 8-9 miles
@kolopier2 ай бұрын
They were saying light bikes are better for tko but a varg is the winner.
@krazed04512 ай бұрын
It's hard to compete with 18/21 wheels and a larger more stable bike with more travel for this sort of riding. For the average trail rider the smaller bikes are a great option, though. That's the meat and potatoes of their sales base ;-)
@ChargedCycleWorks2 ай бұрын
This is a tough one and really comes down to rider preference. No doubt Spencer is a great rider and surprised everyone on the Varg, but most people would really struggle racing a bike that heavy. The weight helps with traction but can also be a detriment if you drop and have to pick it up 10x during the race.
@brianchristoffer5872Ай бұрын
It's probably easier to buy a purse and a transition surgery than ride an e bike.... I mean I'd probably feel alot straighter that way😂😂😂

I really wanted to buy this bike but the bait and switch of the first 50 and the constant marketing bs made me pause. Another silicon valley crowd funding like skeem made me pause with all the new models hitting the market soon. Plan accordingly.
@ChargedCycleWorks2 ай бұрын
Don’t let that hold you back. Trying to make an American-based bike is a massive undertaking and so much more difficult than you would ever imagine. We’ve been meeting more and more investors behind Varg and it’s surprising how much they were able to keep secret for the years leading up to the launch. Dust just happens to be making their journey public. We are filming with Dust again soon and terribly excited to ride the next iteration.

A Stark Varg 60hp model weighs about 243, which is about the same as a Yamaha YZ450. Fully-modded Ultra Bees weigh around 220 lbs, the Dust Moto's target production weight is ~200 lbs. How are they too heavy for MX?
