Electric Fly Swatter - Triple the Zapping Power!

Harbor Freight 2 "D" Cell Battery Model: # 61351 or # 40122
Measured output was 1,215 Volts DC.
Added two extra capacitors in parallel and added thicker battery power wires.

I replaced the very thin battery power wires which only have 5 copper strands in it with Cat5e wire which is much thicker and has 7 copper strands in it.
I cut open the outer layer on the Cat5e wire and pulled out and used the wires.

Mine works but the fly goo's Pop and take's off every time ? can't wait for a wasp ....

Does anybody know about the higher voltage on these capacitors? I have a few of the fly swatters. One has a 0.33uF 275V capacitor, one has a 0.33uF 400V capacitor, and the other has a 0.33uF 630V capacitor. All of these are in parallel with the grid power outputs. Why don't these low voltage capacitors explode? My fly swatters have 950v to 1,250 volts output on the grid. Are the higher voltage capacitors capable of taking in more voltage to deliver a stronger zap or do they just handle more voltage?

as far as I can tell the only way to up the voltage it to up the input voltage. I tried it on one I have but the transistor got hot and would not conduct with a 9 volt input. I am going to try using a transistor that can handle a higher voltage and see if I can go to 2 9 volt batteries and see what I get then. I have all ready added a 2200 u f capacitor and it did not change the voltage but it seems to have upped the current that it let's go so it has more punch. the only down side is it now takes a while to charge up.

I found the same thing as others did. Tried 9V input, transistor got hot then burned out. The larger value capacitor gives added zapping power in a quick discharge burst after it charges up. It won't add more voltage, just zapping power. The extra zapping power is extreme with big value/voltage capacitors so be careful not to get shocked with it! I tried to show the difference with the stock capacitor and different larger capacitors in my other video but the video just doesn't capture the difference like you were in front of it live.
