Electric Lift Hanging Tent Camping

I went camping up in a #hanging tent in the trees this week! Well, it's not really a #tent, more of a hanging seat with a roof on it but it did the trick. I used a battery-powered wireless winch to hoist myself up onto the straps I hung between two trees. It was a successful night of camping!
Did you spot the Easter egg? ;)

When I was a young man I used to go backpacking and camping a lot, middle years not so much because of career and family obligations. I am now 78 years old with some health issues. I went solo camping last week in a state park campground and Steve gave me the motivation to do it. Thank you Steve.

As long as you can plan for and accommodate your health issues, the mental benefits are incredible. These days, there are so many different kinds of camping with modest equipment needs, that it’s far more accessible than the days of that heavy odorous canvas, my friend! Oh, nice orangutan.

Hey Steve, fellow Edmontonion here, I was an avid camper myself sense I was little sadly last year at 35 I was diagnosed with ALS. I have lost most of my ability to move now, just my right arm a little but use a power chair to move around. How I miss being out in nature. The KZbin algorithm brought me to your channel about 6 months ago, I now watch your videos a couple hours a day to camp through your videos. Thank you for making them and bring a smile to my face each day!

Mostly I have camped in swags and tents and under canvass tarps, also under rock overhangs and in caves, but also back in the 80s when I was hitching around Australia I occasionally slept in farm sheds and hay sheds, and when in towns and cities I slept in drain pipes and parks and gardens.

I always absolutely loved camping but for me 90% of it was a bit of a chore and the highlight was finally sitting back by the fire, drinking quality ales and smoking, while listening to my favourite music. Provided I had supplied myself well and didn't need to go too far once settled in, I would happily stay there in that mode for hours and hours and hours. Days even lol. For me, life doesn't get any better than that. It's the absolute peak of enjoyment.

This is my kind of camping! I can imagine grabbing a multi-level building ladder, finding a secluded forest with dense, towering trees, and setting up camp 20-30 feet off the ground. It sounds like an exhilarating experience! Personally, the pictures of climbers camping on mountains give me chills.
