Yo Nic! Thanks for making this review. To (hopefully) help a bit with the truck mounting confusion: the manual displays Reverse Kingpin (RKP) trucks; not Traditional Kinpin (TKP) trucks mounted backwards. They *look* backwards because they are the opposite of normal truck geometry, but you are never supposed to mount TKP or RKP trucks in the opposite orientation of how they are built to be used. Otherwise, they just countersteer (like you experienced) and are basically un-rideable. If you mount your Indy trucks in their normal orientation, and preferably with some tall risers, the whole setup would function much better. That still doesn't mean it's for everyone, but it would be a major improvement (and something their user manual should have definitely clarified)!
@nichenry52204 жыл бұрын
Mike Girard thanks for the info! I didnt think they would work when I mounted them but was just following the pictures in the instructions. I dont know much about longboard stuff or “rkps” but now know for next time 😂.

Skateboard trucks are basically a hinge that makes them turn around a line between the pivot cup and the middle of the bushings. "Reverse kingpin" trucks aren't on backwards, they're just a different design that moves the axle to the other side of the bushings

Cool video, but dude, you're gonna get wheel bite with wheels that big on a deck like that with no wheel wells or cutouts. As for RKP trucks, they're not proprietary to Loaded, they're just standard on general longboards, which is the kinda deck that's recommended for the kit. You're spot-on in saying that eboards aren't meant to replace regular boards, they're just meant for commuting and bombing streets at hill speeds. Enjoy!
@nichenry52204 жыл бұрын
Ah, got it, thanks for the info! I haven't got wheel bite yet. I used two sets of risers and tightened the trucks way more than I would on my normal board. Also the kits are supposed to work with just about any board so I think most won't have wheel wells.
@ourcore4 жыл бұрын
@@nichenry5220 Yeah, the extra risers and over-tightened trucks tend to compromise the ride-it starts to feel too high and stiff. Personally, I love carving, so I can't sacrifice that haha. The kit will theoretically work with basically any board and you won't see wheel wells on symmetrical/pool decks, but it's geared towards longboards. If you ever wanna test any other eboards or join a group ride, check out nyceboarding.com

@@ourcore so you can't ride it, so that means eboards aren't for tricks period all because you can't do it? You have your preferences, good, we all do. But don't tell the world what something is or isn't for based on what you do. I'm not a pro downhill rider, but I'm not going to say a caster board can't bomb a hill just because I can't do it. Eskates are epic I'm bowls, absolutely epic! And the weight you speak of is only partially true. You can save weight with hollow trucks and in Bustins case they're running a very small battery. Yes the wheels are too big of you ask me. There is a void in the market with wheels below 80mm. But that void will be filled.

this is so funny he says hes been skating for 20 years and then he proceeds to put the trucks on backwards causing them to turn the opposite direction. then he says they are design for proprietary reverse truck yet that's not the case the installation was just based on reverse king pin trucks which are common with any longboard or cruiser so they are not proprietary they are actually a standard and thee standard for eskates. i wonder how someone goes around getting a job at CNET because it would be much more constructive if i got a job there instead of always correcting their hosts in the comments of their videos
