I appreciate so much that you show the mugs that did not turn out perfect. As a beginner, it shows you never stop learning.

Nice work as always. Just from my limited experience, on some glazes the atmosphere has an effect on the surface texture and how much they might run; the very properties of the glaze are affected. It'd be interesting to run those glazes on test tiles in the gas and electric kilns to chart the differences.

You should make a video of you fixing the bottom of those mugs. I have advancer shelves and diamond core bats and I deal with drips on a regular basis. However most of the time I end up re firing the pieces after I grind them down and add a little glaze. It would be cool to see how you deal with it.

Honestly, I like both depending on which glazes were used. Some looked better in the electric and others looked better in the gas. But they are all beautiful

Doing pottery is a draam i will probably never see come true. In the mean time, im enjoying growing gourds to dry and have been hydrodipping using a bucket of water and spray paint! Loved the tray and the white and muted tones!

This kiln was packed super full with all those small items. I wonder if that affects temp too. I sometimes use a less drippy version on bottom half.

Gas firing is definitely an art by itself. Looks like it was a little to hot but I am absolutely not an expert, infact, I've never fired a gas kiln. Good luck (maybe a shorter soak?)

Hi Jon, I love them both for different reasons. I'm wondering how much of the drips are the difference in heat work? Anyway, great stuff!

what do you do with the cups that have the all of the excess dripping?

How many of your glazes were brushed on versus dipped?

this isnt a comparison unless you fire them at the same cone. Since glazes behave very differently just because of temperature
