Electric Water Kettle Not Heating? Try This Fix!

I have a Rhonson electric water kettle. It qorked for two years or so flawlessly but today the led was off when i turned on the knob for it. I unscrewed the bottom part and then screw it back again and it worked. After a few hours I wanted to heat some watter but this time , even if the led was on when pressing the knob on its handler , the machine won't start. The first time and bow there was a tiny metal burn smell I could sense. Any idea how to fix that please ?

I posted this- as an update, this fix was apparently temporary. Worked great for a couple of days, but then a new issue happened. No heating. So this may also be just a temporary fix. Sorry if it's not a long term solution but I tried
