Masterclass! I like how you don't waste time overexplaining. It's so clear and concise. My question is Why do you have to use a serial connection to connect router to router? I have seen other videos where they use straighthrough. Thanks
@SKYMONKEY426 ай бұрын
In the real world, A serial cable requires less configuration vs an Ethernet cable (straight thru) as Ethernet cables are harder to troubleshoot and set up. A Serial cable is also immune to Crosstalk interference, it’s more efficient, and cheaper in cost. Also keep this in mind, Router to Router Most of them can use a straight through Ethernet or a crossover Ethernet cable since they have MDI-X which automatically detects and converts the cable from straight thru to crossover and vise versa. Much older models of Routers you had to be careful and use the correct cable or else it wouldn’t work. From a lab perspective you could do it either way, but for simplicity purposes it’s better to use the serial connector.

mam you can apply and run some commands as well in the configuration process while you are copying the ip address for completing the configuration process for Router like : "en" ( make enable the process of router configuration process) "Config t" ( make allow the process of configuration terminal process of router configuration process) then you can give ip address whatever you want to give and then "no shut" ( make sure terminal process of ip is not shutting down) …. simply these commands make all the process complete …. by the way mam Video is Superb …

hello mam we have to give same network id to serial port of connected network. but plz clear do we give any same network id to serial port or internet provider will give us this id, lot of confusion because it is not possible to joint cable on router place at different place to give same ip. suppose in pune my internet provider gave me a class ip and in delhi my other internet provider gave me b class id so how will we set same id on serial port I hope you will understand. i don't know which cable we joint jo serial port, the cable which comes from terrace to aur home or some other . plz clarify
@ece_projects4 жыл бұрын
It'll be given by the internet provider. As we're just simulating it in a software , that's why we are writing the ip addresses ourselves. And all the devices that are in the range of that router & connected to it, will have the same network id. Such as a company or institutions or in a university , if we connect the device to the wifi you'll see that there is a common network id for every device connected in that network.
