After buying the Rad City I am now buying the RadRover 6 Plus for the wider tires.

I'm an avid camper and use the bike on seasonal roads. It's basically just loose sand 90% of the time. Don't even attempt it with anything other than a fat tire.
@victormarian78892 жыл бұрын
@@EdKrisiak Yes, anything bigger is ridiculous and heavy, two inches and under would be enough, but than again, there are also peoples who weigh much more than 220 pounds, and since I'm only 166 maybe my point cannot be very well covering !

What do you recommend buying between Rad 6 vs. Aventon? I didn't get a chance to test ride the Aventom yet. My most use will be commuting between home and work..16 miles each. Any difference between service , parts quality between two companies?

Just an FYI, your rear fender stabilizer arms are installed in the wrong location. You have put them in the screw mount holes for the rear rack. They need to down lower on the frame just behind and above the rear axle nut. Agree with you on the left display dimness. I have put a velcro sock around my Rover 6+ cables mess in the front a la RadRunner style. I have also taken off that ugly looking warning sticker on the downtime. (make sure to heat it before removing)

For us Canadians, a better value would be the Voltbike Yukon Step-Thru. For around $100 cheaper you get a bigger battery, with a rear and front rack.

Hi When you did the hill climb test with “throttle only” which gear were you running in? Same question but when using Assist 5? Thanks
@MrGoalie972 жыл бұрын
It is a hub drive, the gear selected is irrelevant in throttle only and little relevance in PAS, only if it was crank set drive would the gear be a factor

Thule is one of our favorites. www.ebrdeals.com/ebrBPCarRacks-Thule-T2XTR Also, Hollywood Racks Sport Rider has one of the higher weight ratings per tray which handles the heft of e-bikes better. www.ebrdeals.com/ebrBPCarRacks-Hollywood-SportRider

Hi. What is your inseam if you don’t mind me asking. (You note that the step through is too small for you. I’m shopping for my sister / gift for her BF. He’s tall but shorter inseam. Thanks if you get this and have time to comment. She’s rather get him a step through if possible as he’s 63 years old and mobility (step through) down the road will be important.

Excellent review. Out of the six or seven reviews out so far, of the rad rover 6 +, you are the first one to compare the power of the Motor to the rad rover 5. Still a nice bike, but thought for sure they could’ve increased the power a little.

Thanks for the video but I'm still uncertain to get the RadRover 6 Plus or RadCity 5 Plus as I never ride off road. Will concrete / asphalt kill these tires ?

No it won't kill the tires. You could do either, though if you have no off road plans then the tires on the City are a bit more pedaling efficient.

I ended up being the high step version. I would looooove to have a step through, but I'm 6 foot tall. Seems like most ebike companies make the coolest stuff for short people. As in, I would have loved the convenience of a folding ebike, but again, I'm too tall. Still, happy with the bike I do have, but yea, kinda sad these companies only make bikes for shorties.
@orionxavier69572 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean? I'm 6' and I bought the step-through version (RadRover 5 though). The other version was sold out. I only use the step-through when getting off the bike. You are correct though, the cycling community seems to be mostly lightweight, under 6'. I'm what they call a "clydesdale" being over 250 lbs. and 6'. The other problem I have is none of the cycling clothing fits me. I also have a lot more issues with flats because the extra weight creates a lot more force to grind bits of glass and other sharp objects through the tire, no matter what (even through 2 tire liners).
@HelenaOfDetroit2 жыл бұрын
@@orionxavier6957 I mean, there's different ways to get to 6'. As in, I have very long legs but a fairly common sized torso. It's definitely not fun banging your knees on handlebars.

@@HelenaOfDetroit Dumb question: Did you raise the seat?
@HelenaOfDetroit2 жыл бұрын
@@orionxavier6957 yes, but then I end up bent over quite a bit. Slipped disk in my neck means I can't tilt my head that far up
@orionxavier69572 жыл бұрын
@@HelenaOfDetroit Oh I see. Actually one of the things I like about the RadRover is the handlebars are angled more like a cruiser bike so you're not bent over so much. On my Trek 7.2 I have to lean down which puts strain on my neck and back.

Rad must be in serious financial trouble, as they are discounting their flagship R6 Plus by $300. Nobody discounts this heavy in the high demand spring, unlless they are experiencing substantial cash flow problems. They laid off more than 100 people recently, and their mobile van service turned out to a trainwreck.
