A shop in my city (Calgary Alberta) sells a slightly modified version of this bike with the throttle on the right. I’ve been riding it to work and taken it to the shooting range for the past 6 months and rode it through a fierce snow storm. It’s totally changed my life for the better and I love riding it.

why would the put the throttle on the left hand side? Makes little sense seeing as actual motorbikes and scooters have a right hand throttle
@brianmi404 жыл бұрын
It has to do with the derailleur shifter being on the right side.
@slamboy666 жыл бұрын
Throttle should be on right side. As a motorcycle rider it would be confusing.
@elonmoosk14475 жыл бұрын
The Veego made by Ride Scoozy is basically the same bike and the throttle is on the right side.

@5:55 Throttle on the left hand side nooooooooooooooooo! just no, it should always be on the right side like a motorbike, i was sold on it up to the point where you said that still looks nice good review
@foulfredy5 жыл бұрын
You get use to it. And you'll go faster with the pedal assist anyways so you'll probably wont be using it much. I only use it to get started from a dead stop then pedal the rest of the way.

I ride a folding bike. One thing that gives me pause is routing the shift cable and the rear brake cable through the frame....think kinks/chafe/difficulty in folding and unfolding. Didn't work well on my bike so I moved mine outside the frame (all elec. wires left inside)....happy I did so. Another detail, a small one, is the height of the rear rack...if it was me I'd like it closer to the tire...lower. That said, I really like the frame geometry....good looking.
@francoislepine46985 жыл бұрын
I would also say that the throttle on left side is "wrong"....but I never use mine (on right side) anyway. When I got my bike the front brake was left side!! as an old motorcycle guy I could NOT live with that....switching was a matter of minutes.

@francoislepine46984 жыл бұрын
@@maxpal27 the variety of offerings and prices are ENDLESS....so I can't answer your question.....if "folding" is a priority (you are going to fold it every day) be mindful of the weight....I currently have a RadMini folding bike but it's quite heavy at 65 lbs (it's also a "tank")....I would not want to fold it/pack it every day....BUT the handlebars fold down so I can roll it into the back of my SUV without folding/lifting it The only thing I'd say is don't get too hung up on power and listed range....unless you're going to tackle serious long distances and severe uphills a 250/350W motor will serve you well enough....and a battery with a dozen or so Amp/hours is plenty for most people. (Does not apply if your purchase is viewed as a "car replacement") The market is moving so fast at the moment it's hard to keep up....more makes and models than you can shake a stick at...and prices coming down/features going up all the time....I presently own two bikes from RadPower.....Ebike BC has some compelling/interesting offerings...enjoy your search...

Or the Rad Mini, Voltbike Mariner, Addmotor... they're the same Alibaba Fat Folding bike. Just different stickers slapped on. You can make your own brand like them, just come up with a random name for the company and the Chinese will do the rest. They'll even design the logo for you. *Rad Mariner Scoozy bike*
@4nlimited3dition_4n3d6 жыл бұрын
That's true, the Mini is a pretty great deal if you live in the US. Altho the Rad Mini 2018 seems to have some controller issues, but a better controller would be around $20 from Aliexpress so easy fix. I just prefer the original frame design, which neither of those 2 bikes have. As far as I know it was originally invented by an Italian company, called Bad Bike (I know funny name).

Seems like the cheapest Silverfish Style Batteries go for ~$80 with chinese cells. Mine is with Samsung cells, so it was a little more expensive at ~260 dollars. I use a fat folding (very similar to the bad bike on the outside, but much better specs) with a 500w bafang motor and 750w controller, 48V 15.6Ah, 748Wh battery and such. It was custom built so it has no model number.

The Rad 14ah batteries are more than $100 cheaper ($550) than the iGo 13ah batteries ($663). Going up to a 14.5ah iGo battery is even more expensive.

You can get the batteries much cheaper if you order them from the original factories instead. I paid ~$260 for a 15.6Ah 48V Samsung cell battery, shipped.
