Just to let you guys know this is probably one of the easier bikes to mod, the battery pack is really easy to get at with a few hidden screws. I modified mine to run off my several 40v power tool batteries when the internal dies. I have two of these bikes for about a year and absolutely no issues. I even pull a child trailer with one no problem.

How do you connect 40v power tool battery? What connector do you use? PS. I've already done battery mod pulling out the XT60 connector and have a second bolt pro battery as well as a cheap AliExpress battery for extra range.
@JL-qk3xu
@JL-qk3xu Жыл бұрын
@@gimpman1357 Its different for every tool battery, but the basics are the tool battery will have a couple metal connectors, you just need to find the positive and negative ones and wire those to an XT60 and there you go. I also put in a switch to switch between external and internal battery. Ideally you would 3d print a mount with connectors than the tool batteries can connect, lock and slide out as intended when you want to swap batteries easily, I wish they were actually built this way to be honest as swapping is quicker and you can carry as many as you need and buy more.

In case you were wondering, I am a 62 year old male, and this little ebike has been a total godsend, especially during the pandemic, during the spring, summer, and fall months, of the year! I, don’t have to ride on buses, at all, with the possibility of catching a deadly virus, or being violently, attacked by some ignorant, other passenger! This JETSONBOLT PRO, gets me faster, to anywhere I am going, within 3 miles of where I live, than any transit transportation, can! No waiting, just straight from point A to point B, and back, from point B to point A! Super convenient! Show me any store, that will lake do you take a 70 pound full-size E bike into a store, and walk around and do your shopping with it? This thing is so small, and everyone thinks it’s so cute, that no one complains at all when I do this, and everyone seems to absolutely love it! Very easy to get you the chills, when checking out of the store! Let’s see you, or anyone, BEAT THAT!, with any full-size E bike, that doesn’t fold?!

So I wasn't wondering your age at all lol, & secondly any expensive e-bike is a lot better than the Jetson Pro. Also I don't need an e-bike that folds, put in the car or bring it into the store. All you do is lock up your e-bike to a poll & take the battery with you. 3 miles lol. Yeah that's sounds about right. It'll go about 5 miles total before you charge that battery. So you better not going anywhere with that because the battery will die on you & when it dies this bike it trash. The more expensive ones are a lot better, they go faster & more importantly they go way more than 5 miles on a single charge.

@@tonyp9313 Where I live in coastal South Carolina, there are very few hills, and I always do gradual starts. Jackrabbit starts drain a battery fast. I've tried pedaling to start, but the motor kicks in a full throttle and the bike does a wheelie. (I must have looked really cool letting a tiny bike like that dump me off the back.) My trip to a Walmart Neighborhood Store is exactly 7.5 miles of flat-as-a-pancake roads, sidewalks, and bike paths. I have made the 15 mile round trip a few times with no pedaling. If you're only getting 5 miles, it could be hilly terrain, or maybe your tires are underinflated.

Yup, you definitely forgot to mention cruise control, which is one of the best things about this little E bike! Also like I said if you check out the KZbin videos there are men full grown 6 foot two 280 pounds riding these things as well as kids as young as seven years old, using and riding them everywhere! Seriously, hard to believe, but this little E bike is giving a great deal of competition do you three or $4000 ebikes simply because it can get you around 15 mph and up to 15 miles range or higher, if you add an extended external battery! Like I said, with the external FrogStyle, 14 app hour ebike battery that I added to mine I get up to 25 to 30 miles throttle only, and 40 to 50 miles with pedal assist! Also, I’ve seen guys boost to speed on these things anywhere up to 30 mph, I think I even saw one KZbin video where the guy was going almost 60 mph on one of these! In my opinion that’s totally insane and extremely dangerous, but it can be done!

One last thing for now, because the bike is so small, a lot of stores and takeout restaurants will let you take it right in the store to order your food, so you don’t have to lock it up, risk having it stolen, or remove your seat! You just take it in the store with you! I’ve seen several videos where guys have gone right into a Walmart with theirs done a little shopping and then come back out again! Many many takeout food restaurants will let you take it right in there and order your food and leave because it’s so tiny! Many many bonuses and benefits do these little E bikes that you simply cannot get, with larger model ebikes! Not to mention insanely expensive ebikes! All of these little benefits combined, and the price being so ridiculously low, makes this little ebike a no brainer for people that don’t wanna blow their entire bank account on an over priced, insanely expensive to repair, full sized ebike! Very economical! Simply cannot beat it in this area of things!

That's awesome! Thanks for chiming in with your positive experiences Scott! I had a lot of fun zipping around, when it worked, and got a lot of joy seeing the kid ride it too. I went into this having bought a "new" non-ridden bike from this family. They bought two online, but decided to sell one because they realized it was so small. The bike I unboxed had stickers on the screen, the tires were clean, everything looked good, but it had a motor failure. This isn't something that was sabotaged by the family, or they would have ghosted me. I was grateful to be the one to go through this frustrating experience so I could share it, and then notice the other issues on the three week old bike. I'm not dumping on them, just sharing what I saw, and am grateful to get to see and cover used bikes because it paints a bigger picture than the brand new perfectly tuned model with support staff waiting in the wings. I want to do more used ebike reviews with owners, so I can get a better picture... but it can be challenging to find people who will spend the time and go on camera with me. Grateful this one worked out, sorry if it felt unfair, that was not my intention.

Personally, I don’t know where you got your $600 price tag, for the Jetson Bolt Pro? I, would imagine because you’re American, that’s what you consider the American price to be, it isn’t, this little Jetson bolt pro ebike, is even cheaper in the states, and it is in Canada, especially, when it’s on sale! Myself, I live in Canada, and when Costco puts these on sale, they sell for $370! (Presently $470 regular price, delivered, $20 cheaper in-store, warehouse! Thus far, I have purchased two of these for myself, and one for a friend! For the price of one $3000 mid- range ebike, bought in Canada, I, can buy five of these, a brand new one each year, for the next five years! Then, give the old one, to someone else as a gift! Still working perfectly after one years use! Which, is what I have already done once, thus far! Plus the this small, highly portable, ebike, fits absolutel, fantasticly, in apartment living Spaces! Also, these are an excellent tool to get around, for people, that have disabilities, and trouble walking! Also, you could’ve mentioned that these things, can be taken, into any store, or fast food restaurant with the owner, preventing it from getting stolen, when locking it outside, for an extended period of time! I, have never once, had to, lock, one of these Jetsons, outside, I, take it into every single store, that I go into, and nobody ever complains at all about it! If anything, I get a ton of questions/complements, and comments, mainly in regards to, on where did you get it? How much does it cost! How much range? How long to charge it! How fast does it go!? Also, you could’ve mentioned that there are, literally, hundreds of KZbin videos, on how to do 1,000,001 things with the ebike! Regarding upgrades, speed, increases, and accessorizing! Very disappointed, that you left out so many positives, that this thing provides! Price being just the most excellent/fantastic one, plus, the build quality is fantastic, for how much it can handle, weight-wise! Also, if you put an additional battery on the rear seatpost on a rack, and wire it up, you can get much, much greater range than the bike claims to have itself! Myself, with an added 14 Apple hour battery, I get over 25 miles of throttle only range! People, modify these in many, different, ways! This, FANTASTIC!, little ebike, is far more versatile, than how you’ve described it ! , I’m willing to bet that this little E bike is the most popular selling E bike in the entire world right now! In the Hawaiian islands, Costco warehouses carry over 300 of these at a time, because people love to cruise around the islands with them ! I have seen KZbin videos of 2 full, 3 story shelf isles, fully stocked, with nothing but these Jetson bolt pro e-bikes! However, I do, somewhat like your written review, much better than this video review, even though, much more information could be added to it as well, regarding bonuses, pluses, and benefits of this ebike! Still, you left out, a lot of the major pluses, of this little Ebike! Like I said, I can buy five of these for the price of one $3000 ebike, and that is at full price, in Canada, where everything is more expensive, here than in the states and mats, not even when it’s on sale!

For what you get at the price ( through Costco or refurb Jetson) it is an insane value and such a great intro to ebikes. I've been a fan of this channel since its inception, but this video iritates me to no end. This bike and value works for what a lot of people want or need it for. This review cheapened that. Why bother reviewing two questionably used bikes? I get that it was admitted early on, but set a fair standard with bike reviews low cost or not.

It was a unique experience, and very frustrating for me at times. Took a lot of extra work and communication to complete because of the motor failure. I wanted to share that, and cut out a lot of video to keep it from going on and on. Please keep in mind that I read a lot of comments about no support and quick failure of batteries and other parts for cheap ebikes. I got to experience it first hand with my first ebike 12 years ago and again with this one, but I did my best to share in an objective and open way. This is exactly what happened, I'm the kind of person who would probably pay more because it would perform better and last longer... but I do appreciate this bike, clearly the child was having fun, it was also fun for me when it worked :) thanks for your feedback.

Dude you don't adjust at the handle bard to fix the gap issue, you adjust down at the caliper itself, there is a big wide round grey allen key screw down on the inside of the caliper, you need to turn that till it's all the way down, then back it off around a quarter turn. The gap in you break handles will be gone, and the breaks will work like new again.

One last thing I wanted to mention that is extremely important, to all of us that want to save money and be safe, no gas is required and extremely high prices, nor do you have to endanger your life when it comes to Covid! It illuminates having to ride buses, and line up at the gas pumps and empty your wallet! Two extremely important reasons to get one!

Hi Joris! I quoted the MSRP that I saw on their website. Sometimes companies use anchoring to create the sense of high value. I don't know their strategy, or that of any product I review, so I just report the MSRP. Lately, many companies have been asking me to raise the stated price as they have had to adjust to supply chains and inflation.

Who is paying $600 for this? I bought mine in 2020 and it was only $300 plus tax. Absolutely love the bike and can't complain after 2 years. No rust, it starts up every time, and super portable. The fact that you can put this in your car without a bike rack was a major selling point for me. You may not feel the pedal assist because it's actually REALLY smooth. Try going uphill and you will notice the difference. I have another ebike (Swagtron EB5) and the pedal assist on that one is super jerky while this one feels like butter. I would suggest going to a costco and buying a new bike and not a used one off of FB Marketplace to really do a full review. Also would your opinion of the bike change if it was priced at $300? If you delete this comment again I will UNSUBSCRIBE!!!!
@ElectricBikeReview
@ElectricBikeReview 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the price definitely plays a role in any purchase... the lower the better! However, I'd be willing to pay more for certain things like reduced weight, more battery capacity etc. I got the impression that I was the first one to ride this ebike, because it was still boxed and had tape and stickers on it when I assembled. It was actually really nice that they had a used one that worked, so I got a bigger picture and could actually ride without returning it.

I picked up a "refurbished A" one last month for $300.00 with tax and shipping, I'm a female, 5"2 120 pds. I did remove the battery,looked like someone returned and they put another one in it,now it's much lighter. Switched seats to a racing seat since I'm use to riding 12 speeds and 10 speeds from back in the day. It's a bit squirrelly and reminds me of riding a skateboard or longboard, it's a fun bike for ripping around your neighborhood. Either get a more expensive one or a regular bike and mod it to an electric.

Honestly anyone that's asking more the 350 is ripping you off , the bikes throttle is made of cheap material , it can break easily if you take a speed bumb a little to fast. Also finding a mechanic to fix one isn't impossible but is a hassle.

Thanks, although this here (NL) is not street-legal (throttle not allowed) this kind of gear (you should not call it a bike I -and lawmaker- find) is popular because of its price and specs [on paper]. Also really afraid it is fun for a week, and then something breaks to a point where people are parking it in the shed, to be thrown away.. Better not to buy things like this, and wait until you can afford a quality-wise decent product, much more fun and sustainable.

@@ElectricBikeReview I think in the review you said the Jetson Bolt was 43.2 lbs. The XP Lite is 46 lbs total with battery, according to the website; the battery weighs 7 lbs, so the Lite is 39 lbs with the battery removed! The Bolt does look a little more compact, I agree, but I would trade that for all the features the Lite has. EDIT - Amazon also carries them. Price fluctuates, but right now I see $490 USD. You have no idea what you’re talking about, the motors on these E bikes are rated to last for up to five years, and the battery that comes with the bike has a time span of 2 to 3 years on average! Plus the fact that you can buy any part for it that needs replacing! The bike easily has a five year lifespan if you take care of it! Longer even if you don’t abuse the crap out of it! So don’t trash it unless you only wanna know something about it! Can’t stand it when people give a pinions when they don’t even buy one and try it out! The only people that have a right to give an opinion on this bike are the people that own it and I’ve been writing it for a year to you! Show many people out there that think they know everything and they have no real experience with what the hell they’re talking about! Just had put in my two cents since you put in yours!

Myself, as I said I used to love EBR bike reviews, but now after hearing this I tend to feel that you are completely bought off and paid for regarding all of your Ebike reviews on very expensive models! Which biases things very heavily in the direction of the corporation that makes the bikes you are pushing, or trying to convince people to buy! Which means that a lot of your reviews while they are extremely detailed, aren’t completely honest and are seriously biased! In other words hype the expensive ebike more because you’re being paid to do it!

My honest opinion on this review, you complained several times in the review about having to buy the bike yourself and buying a secondhand piece of junk that somebody else abused it wasn’t working properly you almost sound like you didn’t want to do the review at all because it wasn’t an expensive $5000 ebike! Sad to say but most of the review you sound like you’re whining about the fact that you had to pay for which means to me that you’re very concerned about making money rather than giving an honest review! Personally I agree with many other people here the Jetsons you reviewed were secondhand pieces of garbage they weren’t brand new out-of-the-box straight from Costco! You also seem to be completely unaware of all of the add-ons upgrades and repairs that a person can do them cells which in the long run will save a person a ton of money! Do you realize that a family of five can buy five of these ebikes and have a great time on them for the price of one medium priced regular sized ebike! You simply cannot compete with that! Personally, I believe that the companies that you do reviews for that sell very expensive ebikes are getting nervous about the Jetson Bolt Pro taking away a lot of their business, because people can still get the same feeling of an E bike and riding around on one, for five times less the cost of the expensive ebikes! So that would mean to me that a lot of these bigger companies with expensive bikes would pay you to give a negative review about Jetsons in order to lessen their competition and try to turn people away from the people who buy tens of thousands of these things! I am willing to bet right now that this little ebike is the most popular selling ebike in the entire world, with a close second followed by the DYUE bikes! Not everybody wants to spend $10,000 on one E bike! These are not automobiles there a bicycle with a motor on them! $10,000 $5000 $3000 is ridiculously insane for a bicycle! Plus the fact that I’ve seen videos where these things are made in China for like 1/4 of the price they sell them for here in the US and Canada! This means that a great deal of companies are cheating the hell out of people and making ridiculous profits of the hard-working people and companies in China that produce the things! It’s the same thing as Nike hiring child slave labor! Greedy pig Americans and Canadians that are on businesses that sell the bikes and do nothing to make them! So much greed over here and it makes me sick to my stomach! Is it fair for a giant corporation who owns many stores to sell the bike For $5000 when they get it for like 1000 bucks from China! Total robbery and absolutely criminal! Thank God we got companies like red rover and Lectric! At least these people are charging a decent fair price for the goods!

Most reviews (even expensive ones) are not paid, I don't do affiliate links, and I'm clear about promoted bikes and shops on the site. I got the chance to see the failure points that can come up with a cheaper product, and I did my best to share those objectively here. Not trying to be unfair or hurt anyone's feelings. I drive an old cheap car, rent a room, and am not someone who goes for the fanciest brands... even if I am lucky enough to review them sometimes.
