It's saving me £2000 per year in fuel and I've had it 4 years now and thanks to Octopus energy and their EV go tariff my household electricity bill has halved saving me £1800 a year so total savings of £3800 per year which wipes the floor with any extra depreciation that may have occurred.

My wife got a Corsa electric last September so pre-facelift for a smidge under £20k. Its a perfectly good local and town car, drives well, fast enough, certainly compared to its ICE equivalents. The range in Winter is about 150, Summer about 190. All round a decent car, we would never go on a road trip in it but that's what my P2 is for.

In the early 1990s we had to take out a big loan for 3 to 5 years, and that was on a used model. The only other options were sharing a family member's car if they were stupid enough to let you, or to go and buy some old banger for a few hundred pounds and slowly work up from there. So not sure where 20yr olds would find the money for an electric car.

I definitely agree about the usable performance. I daily a 40kWh Nissan Leaf and at 150hp it's quick enough to be fun, but it tapers off at NSL. Although because it's so quiet you can easily get up to 80 without realising. I used my mother's Audi E-Tron a few weeks back, it has 400hp and does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and its too quick. I was overtaking a car doing 35 in a 60, put my foot flat to the floor to get past, and by the time I passed I wasn't far off triple digits. She also had her Smart Fortwo EQ as her runabout and despite only having 70hp, off the line it feels just as quick!

Suggestion for a video. Give running an EV without home charging for 3 or 4 weeks. No rules other than its your daily driver and you cannot charge at home (not even with a granny). Why? Because that is the reality for half the car users, it would be good to see someone trying to make that work, what solutions you come up with to make it work and what it costs.

I'm currently driving around in the previous Corsa-e for about a fortnite while our 308SW PHEV is getting repaired after a minor crash. Even in that previous version, the range is quite alright for a city car. I dislike that the cruise control can't do 30km/h like the Astra's can. The main thing I will miss, when I have to go back to the 308SW and Astra ST PHEV versions? The electric range!!!! If you want to drive a PHEV mostly in electric range, you'll be charging a lot! I'm effectively charging once or twice a day. With the corsa-e? Maybe once a week. I wish I could get the full electric Astra ST. If you're thinking about getting a PHEV thinking it's the best of both worlds.... Consider that it's a compromise. If you plan on using it mostly in electric mode or even in hybrid mode, for the best experience bear in mind that you'll be charging it often and you won't be able to use DC charging. If you can.... You'd better take an EV.

Hi guys, greetings from Oxford. I’m 58YO, when I was a lad, the big battle for market domination was between Ford and Vauxhall. Sadly, both these iconic brands are becoming increasingly irrelevant in today’s car market. Most of the value market seems to have gone to KIA and Hyundai these days. I think both Ford and Vauxhall are struggling to find their identity, and Vauxhall is now part of the struggling Stelantis group, I just don’t see a future for Vauxhall anymore.

I just drove my first ever EV and it was a Corsa. I can't say I was too impressed but it wasn't really a fair test but the controls weren't very intuitive and really I should have read the manual first but didn't think it was necessary. I spent ages going through the menu trying to find any sort of efficiency display, apparently you need to push something at the end of one of the steering wheel stalks. Driving it was okay but really didn't get much time to judge, didn't get time to test things like regen braking (not on by default) or cruise control. Felt a bit big and unwieldy for me and the driving position felt quite low and pretty dark inside, the sort of thing that'd really appeal to a teenage boy desperate to look tough.

Interior looks out dated, cheap plastic everywhere, the Renault Clio alpine interior far superior,if vauxhall put more effort in to the interior ie softer material etc ,I would be more interested, iam looking at the Corsa hybrid, Renault Clio hybrid and of course the Toyota Yaris

Boring but good value as a nearly new, as are a lot of its Stellantis cousins - e208, e-C4, Jeep, Fiat 600, Mokka etc. A good nearly new at £15k gets you a very capable and peanuts to run car.

It's ok, but doesn't have the panache of a peugeot e208, its a bit councill estate to be honest, but nice to see improved ranges in this segment.

Yeah.....nice looking car ..like the colour...like the black wheels....sensible format...etc etc... ....however, it seems to be completely unrecognisable as ...well, anything, really....! ....it's completely neutral ..it could, literally be ANYTHING ...if you put ANY badge on it, and told me it was that brand ....I would happily believe you....!!

Listing on Autotrader right now... Corsa 1.2 petrol Design Auto (to make it equivalent to the electric car's gearbox) £18,995 after discounts. Corsa-e 50kWh Yes Auto £21,777 So, a £2,782 difference. But, the petrol version will cost around £1,300 in fuel over 10,000 miles vs about £160 for the Corsa-e if charged up overnight on an EV-specific tariff. Plus, the petrol version will cost £220 in road tax vs (currently...) £0 for the EV. Add those 2 together and the Corsa-e 'breaks even' in just 2 years and with no detriment to the local air quality breathed in by our kids and grandkids walking to school...
