I definitely agree about the usable performance. I daily a 40kWh Nissan Leaf and at 150hp it's quick enough to be fun, but it tapers off at NSL. Although because it's so quiet you can easily get up to 80 without realising. I used my mother's Audi E-Tron a few weeks back, it has 400hp and does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and its too quick. I was overtaking a car doing 35 in a 60, put my foot flat to the floor to get past, and by the time I passed I wasn't far off triple digits. I'm currently driving around in the previous Corsa-e for about a fortnite while our 308SW PHEV is getting repaired after a minor crash. Even in that previous version, the range is quite alright for a city car. I dislike that the cruise control can't do 30km/h like the Astra's can. The main thing I will miss, when I have to go back to the 308SW and Astra ST PHEV versions? The electric range!!!! If you want to drive a PHEV mostly in electric range, you'll be charging a lot! I'm effectively charging once or twice a day. With the corsa-e? Maybe once a week. I wish I could get the full electric Astra ST. If you're thinking about getting a PHEV thinking it's the best of both worlds.... Consider that it's a compromise. If you plan on using it mostly in electric mode or even in hybrid mode, for the best experience bear in mind that you'll be charging it often and you won't be able to use DC charging. If you can.... Driving it was okay but really didn't get much time to judge, didn't get time to test things like regen braking (not on by default) or cruise control. Felt a bit big and unwieldy for me and the driving position felt quite low and pretty dark inside, the sort of thing that'd really appeal to a teenage boy desperate to look tough.
