I'm also converting a classic Mercedes using a 2013 Leaf drivetrain. If the owner finds this comment, please reply because I have a few questions! Did you cut out the whole firewall, front subframe, and floorpans - and weld it to the MB body? Thats a smart way to go and I was thinking about doing that myself, but my Leaf is wrecked too badly for that. Frustratingly, the video never shows a clear shot of the front or rear wheels. Was the Leaf not too wide for the MB body? I know the wheelbase is over 2" different, so did you not use the rear of the leaf?

If you like converting old, classic Mercs to electric, you'll also rip the clockwork out of an old grandfather clock and replacing it with a digital quartz clock. You may be the person that buys old oil paintings and "improves" them with a Sharpie. This should be called "Destroying a classic car". Because you ripped the heart and soul out of it. To me that's the same as bringing your dead pets back to life by stuffing them and fitting them with animatronics. That is now a zombie Merc.

While the work is definitely impressive, I'm really not a fan of the modern Nissan Leaf interior. It completely clashes with the rest of the car's design language, and honestly defeats the purpose of feeling like you're driving a classic. If they had simply kept the original interior and updated a few things in it while swapping the engine for batteries, that would have kept the integrity of the car much more.
