Hi. Great video. After much research, I've just bought a June 22 e2008 GT Premium in blue with 3,500 miles on it from a main dealer for £23k - no more than an equivalent petrol one. It's a great car. I was a bit concerned when you said that the tyres were over £200 each so I checked on Black Circles, which has a good choice of premium brand tyres for between £130 & £150 fitted. There were plenty of other no-name tyres which were considerably cheaper.

Just handed one of these back after a 3 year lease (because we needed more space in the back and the boot for two growing youngsters). Enjoyed having it and got down to the south of France and back twice in it on holiday- not a massive range but charges quickly so longer trips definitely doable!

@user-nu1vn3yy9s I've been driving EVs till 2019 till april this year... Stellantis group IS too slow! Not to mention we now have several 150-350 kW chargers in Sweden in some select places, mostly Circle K and Ionity. We are also setting up/preparing for trucks requiring megawatts. Tesla even opened up some of theirs. Hyundai and Kia are on the right track but still too slow imo. Xpeng can reach 480 kW peak, Nio can swap batteries. We need solid state tech allowing a flaw 300 kW minimum to speed things up.

@decimal1815 it's capacity for the battery mate. Like I said I've been driving EVs for four years, it was a fun test period but I'm jumping out of the early adopter wagon. Solid state tech or no EV at all for me. I gladly jump between my Yaris hybrid and Ninja 636 while I wait for both the tech and infrastructure to catch up.

@user-nu1vn3yy9s very funny, EVs is still a small market around in the world. In 2022 only 14%... Still a long way to go don't you think. You have no real arguments, you are just being negative for no good reason or expecting everyone to settle for mediocre cars (yes EVs are still in their infancy). There's still no solution in place how EVERYONE can charge at home to this day. Till that is solved, and how much it will cost, will largely affect EV adoption rate.

Look at Stellantis cars new 2024 models.... they are asking £35k to £45k yet they will discount the hell out of them when they are 6 months old.... Then in two to three years they will be 50% down!! Personally I would either lease new OR buy second hand as BEVs are not holding their value. Plenty of quality second hands coming to market.

I’m on a company car lease on an e208 - it was chep[er monthly than a petrol version when I took it out. Not now as residuals have plummeted. Unlikely to take another on lease next time, I’ll get a good 2 year old EV at 50\5 of the original price privately. The cars are great but way overpriced.

The tyre price has nothing to do with the car itself and everything to do with wheel size - it will be the same as any EV SUV in its class. The only exception to that rule is when bespoke tyres are made for certain manufacturers models - but that only really applies with very expensive cars.

I love my Peugeot 2008e 21 plate,but the downfall is range. It stated 217 mile range, its actually 180 full charge, Peugeot’s protection on the battery is 40 miles. My problem is driving on motorways, it eats the range if I drive over 55 mph.

Quality review thank you. I am considering this car because it looks amazing, but I’m sceptical about electric cars. Whenever I see one at 50% charge the range says 55-70 miles left which is way less than their claimed range. What do people get in the real world with an electric car? Thanks

I've got a e2008, and would never ever ever by a Peugeot anymore. I had so much issues with this car, it's just a melon. Charge system broke down, abs sensor, front axle broken, automatic park broke had to be replaced after engaging suddenly on a road and no way it would disengage. My steering wheel has been replaced, the lacquer of the Peugeot logo's peeled off. The automatic cruise control camera had to be replaced. It's unbelievable how bad this car is with 100k kilometers on it. And don't get me started on the unreliable and frustrating app...

I test drove one but was put off by the lack of rear visibility and overall “driving a tank and looking out through a gun port” feeling. Very dark inside.

Looked around, you can get a 2021 GT Premium for £18K, which is a great price , half of when new. However, the proverbial elephant in the room that's not being mentioned on the channel is the price of insurance - was quoted £1,300, which is 4x what I'm paying for an ICE Qashqai.

Mad to buy a small EV privately new - same as buying any expensive car new, they all depreciate heavily. Either lease it or buy second hand.

I think Stellantis have done a fairly good job in recent years. The new price is atill too high and leasing costs are way toouch for a low mileage private buyer. Used pricea definitely on the verge of tempting but in order for tgem to be a no compromise option in my use case Id need 250 miles real world winter range. That means I can go somewhere 100 miles away without faffing around charging (not all places I visit have charging facilities)

@@piglet5287 I used to have a Zoe ZE40. 140 miles was the winter range with that. I didn't drive it at all fast though. I rarely charged away from home but long trips took some planning. Home charging is super convenient most of the time it has to be said.

You need at least a Tesla Model 3 Long range if u want 250 miles real world in winter. I think even Model 3 can barely achieve 250 miles in winter.

Myself I'd be pretty put out if my battery turned out to be 70% effective and so just ineligible for replacement. Especially considering that this Stellantis drivetrain is well known for getting nowhere near its Wltp range (lots of comments on this for the 208 and Mokka). Shouldn't this channel offer more advice on how to assess secondhand battery health? Is looking at the range readout sufficient? Perhaps the channel has advice elsewhere, in which case why not link to it? That's what is putting secondhand buyers off, if you hadn't realised

You have to wonder what will happen to these 2021-2 BEVs in 10 years' time or so. Their owners, if any, will be struggling around on 80-90 miles' range and with the constant threat of having to replace the battery. It's quite different from the old ICE cars on the road today, which can usually be repaired incrementally - think how many battered old 206s you see driving around. With a traction battery failure, a relatively poor motorist will be ...stuffed. So old BEVs will be scapped early (also if their battery is crash-damaged). Just how good will this earlier scrappage be for the environment?

Ugly looking thing . As a private purchase new EVs can lose a packet it seems. Way too early to risk you money and suffer the recent charging point punch ups .
