Is it possible to play loop A and loop B simultaneously, while isolating Loop A's output out of one speaker, and Loop B's output out of another speaker? I used to do this with my EHX 2880 Looper by keeping the dry out turned all the way left, and using the left/right knobs above each track accordingly.... This was especially helpful for live looping my electric kit out of my Simmons DA50B, and then looping my guitar through my fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It would keep the drum's low end of out of my Fender.

Jake yes. Its stereo in and out. So A in is just A out and same for the B channel.

EHX I think your comment is hard to understand (I own this pedal) as you’re talking about “A in/out” and “B in/out” whereas the pedal has: “LEFT in/out” and “RIGHT in/out” that are not necessarily linked to LOOP A or LOOP B. Now, the instrument plugged into LEFT IN will be routed to LEFT OUT, whether its sound was recorded onto LOOP A or LOOP B. So beware with the routing: if you plug LEFT OUT to a PA system, and RIGHT OUT to a guitar amp, the loops you record will be distributed/heard accordingly to the plugging IN. It means that if you plug a vocal mic on the LEFT (in XLR), and a guitar on the RIGHT IN, your guitar amp will not play the vocal part, but the PA system will. And from what I understand, the drums are equally distributed both to the LEFT and RIGHT out. I haven’t found a way to play the drum loop on only one of the outs.

I'm totally new to loop pedals so approaching this as a total noob. Initially, I was looking at the BOSS RC-30, but after reading a few reviews, someone said that the 22500 hits the spots the RC-30 lacks. Would you advise this pedal over the RC-30, or would I be jumping in a bit too far over my head for a beginner?

Can you make your own custom drum beats with your own drum sounds and replace those cheesy preset drum beats while still having access to 2 separate loops? Be nice to be able to do this since you can not synch it to a drum machine or midi. This would also make this a like custom groove box. What say you? @EHX

Yes, you can. The process involves replacing files on the SD in the unit and does not affect the looping audio files. There’s a few steps so please refer to page 26 of the manual for a full step-by-step www.ehx.com/assets/instructions/22500.pdf

I just purchased this pedal and am quite impressed. May I ask a quick question? I’ve accessed the drum loops and enjoy practicing with them. However, I can’t hear the rhythm track in the playback of my loop. Is the rhythm function only a practice aid? Thanks in advance. Edward.

But apparently you can only live record the a part of a song. What if you have an a part and a b part? Can you do it live? and save it? Can I play two A. parts and two B parts? Or do these have to be prerecorded and toggle between them? I can't find the accessory foot switch for sale.

Yes Maury if tap and rhythm is on. BUT it is limited before you hear some vibrato side effects on the loop. You can only stretch so far...

The Rhythms can only be changed via the R Type in the Mode menu. There are 16 Rhythms from the factory and can be assigned to a bank prior to recording a loop

The STOP button will stop both loops; if you want to stop Loop A, double-tap the LOOP A button; and the same goes for Loop B.

does it play rhythm tracks in stereo? I would like to load stereo rhythm tracks with 1 silent channel; this way I could send one output to a guitar amp and 1 (the rhythm) to a full-range flat response speaker; how else could you get professional sound quality for both a guitar and the rhythm?

Yes, the rhythm tracks are stereo. So if you create your own rhythm tracks and export them to the 22500, they will remain in stereo when sent out the L and R outputs. You can put one instrument in the left channel and a different instrument in the R channel.

When you loop it is written to the SD card automatically. That is where the loops live. No need to save it is already there.

when you transfer the loops into a computer, does it store the full loop as a single WAV file? Or does each layer of the loop get stored as individual WAV files? I want to know if I could record a loop, transfer to my computer, then work with individual layers within a DAW? Thanks

Dear EHX - I bought one and as far as I can see it DOES NOT store as individual layers or wav files. The loops are stored under the bank number (e.g. BANK00), but only as LOOPA & LOOPB. I asked if the LAYERS of the loops are stored separately - for example I have recorded a loop with a sax part, a guitar and bass parts - so that I could import them and work on the separate layers in a DAW. Sure, loop A and loop B are separate WAV files, but that is not what I wanted to know. Do I need to change a setting somewhere?

No pedal looper I know stores all overdubs as separate waves. I am sorry I did not understand your question. You would be better off with a 8 track recorder or a looper with 4-16 tracks. Your can write more on the EHX forum www.ehx.com/forums

Received mine last month. I run my axe thru the left mono channel and a keyboard with drum track in the right channel. Then thru effects in stereo, to my amp. Only using one amp and I have an mono Y splitter from stereo effects to input channel on amp. Clean signal with keyboard/drums, right output. Guitar with RP21D, into the left. Page 8 and15 shows us how. This unit does a LOT MORE than the ad says its does!

LizaLavolta there’s no way to sync the EHX 22500, unfortunately. Look into the 1440 (one track) or 45000 (4 track + 1 bouncing/master track).
