At 2:56, did you mean to say that pvdf is used to increase the binding between active material and carbon black? Or active material and activated carbon? Because suppose if we use 80% active material, 10% AC and 10% pvdf binder, can you please tell tell me how to interpret that situation?

The PVDF is to bind the active material and the carbon black.

Thank you very much for sharing this video. I'm working on anode too. Wish you could show how strong is the adhison of the materials to copper foil, for example with a peel test. Because I have problem with that. I mean the adhison of the materials to the foil isn't good at all and I don't know why?!

You can rough up the surface of the copper with a bit of sandpaper if you want it to adhere better. For our research, we actually want it to peel off.

What x quantity of NMP did you use for y quantity of total powder ? I want to achieve same slurry viscosity as you ! Thanks

These details should be in our publication: doi.org/10.1016/j.jpowsour.2023.232852 and doi.org/10.3390/batteries9020115

How did you decide the ratio of slurry composition? Also, can we use graphite current collector for batteries? And can we use copper/Al foil as the current collector for supercapacitors?
@iitenergymaterialsgroup4816 Жыл бұрын
We found this ratio to be effective with enough carbon to maintain conductivity. Others use different ratios. Graphite is generally considered an active anode. The current collector is usually a thin metal foil to minimize the weight and provide uniform conductivity over the entire electrode. Yes, I suppose that you can use Cu/Al for supercapacitors as well.

May I know how to calculate the composition used ?
@iitenergymaterialsgroup4816 Жыл бұрын
I assume you are talking about the composition of the slurry. We use various compositions depending on the material and application. As a rule of thumb it will probably be something like 80% by weight of active material, 10% of carbon and 10% of binder.

We don't have videos on all the steps and making the slurry is very dependent on your material.
