This explained a lot, so only change in magnetic flux matters. This stuff is mindblowing, we are creating electricity literally out of nowhere, just with plain movement force of magnet through the magnetic fields created in coils. Whole idea is crazy but works.

@eugenepohjola2584 жыл бұрын
Howdy. In electromagnetism induction can mean two things. It can be the total flux. The unit is Wb = V x s. The old unit is Mx (Maxwell). Induction can also mean the electromagnetic force (voltage) a varying or moving magnetic field produces in a conductor. Regards.

Interesting use of graphics. I am curious about something. This demonstration shows induction in an inertial reference frame, such as a table top in a laboratory. What if the entire system were accelerating, or in zero-g? Would there be slightly different behaviour of the needle on the galvanometer?

This video set off a lot of light bulbs in my head. Thanks for sharing this. I didn't understand why there was only current when the objects were in motion until the magnetic field pointers were shown in the background. The polarity of the object moved through the coils causes the electrons in the coils to move around and re-order themselves, which creates current in the coils. Thus, at any point if you stopped moving the object, the electrons in the coils would have no reason to move, therefor creating zero current. Am I understanding this correctly? This electricity shit is blowing my mind. And the fact that there is this "conventional" and "reality" way of describing what is happening in the circuits doesn't help me one bit to understand. Some professors will say "as the positive charges moves", others will say "as the electrons flow"....jesus christ make up your damn mind so I can understand! ... ok sorry ranting now lol, back to learning physics. Great video!

I understand this and thank you. but I was left with this question. Your rotating magnet in the last example does not go through the wires; it is only next to it. What happened to the coil- magnet perpendicularity relationship? Isn't this a very inefficient way to generate electricity?

Dear Bozeman science, based on this science I have a pertinent question. Iron decadohedrons made ages and ages ago, if you were to wrap that in very thin copper wiring completely around it, in a sense insulating the iron core with copper, would it produce a magnetic flux based on its engineering? And if not, say the decadohedrons are hollow to start, could you add an element inside the iron core and then wrap it to manipulate the magnetic flux?
