In our state you have to wire these to work only on high beam or you will get ticketed ! Ran all forest fire rigs with that set up , Don't know about your state but they will stop you and test that they go out by going to low beam ! Thanks for a great video !
@electronicsNmore6 жыл бұрын
It's very easy to make the bar lights go off when the low beams turn on, you add a relay to the low beams power supply wire and connect the batt+ for the bar lights through the relay contacts. When the relay has power from the low beams, the circuit for the bar lights will not have power. Thanks for watching!

What a professional. I like the way you took a lot of care to make sure the installation was perfect . I got one question though . I didn't see you install a relay switch . On other videos some people installed a relay in their wiring setup . I'm not an electrician so I'm wondering what difference there is in the wiring setup that has a relay compared to not having a relay . Anyone know ?
@electronicsNmore2 жыл бұрын
The relay is used if you are going to be pulling a lot of current, or if you want to only have the LED lights turn on if the hi-beams are on. I included a schematic in my pinned comment.

@@electronicsNmore I put an off road bumper on my truck that had some lights in it . It has 2 small fog lights left right side . I was wondering what is the best way to wire them up . Option one would be to follow your instructions in above video . Second option is to wire them directly to the low beams . This way they would always be on at night when I turn my headlights on . They are not too bright so I'm not concerned about blinding oncoming traffic. Would I need a relay in the wiring system? Does it hurt the truck charging system if the fog lights are always on at night ? And final question is if I did decide to wire the 2 fog lights directly to my low beams do I wire one fog light to the left side low beam wiring and right fog light to the right side low BEAM or is it possible to connect both fog lights wires together and only attach wires to one side to the low beam wiring ?

I want to add some LED reverse lights to my truck... And I figured I may as well get fixtures that have red brake lights and amber turn signals as well (just incase my factory bulbs go out, hopefully the added lights might save me from a ticket or accident 😬). What do I need in order to tie into factory switches? Can I splice directly into the existing truck light wires, or will it put too much of a load on the existing circuits? How does it work with trailer lights? They have to tie into the factory switches, so do they not add too much resistance? Sorry. I haven't done any 12v stuff in YEARS

Another great video! Had a quick question off topic, hoping you may have an answer. I have a vintage mechanical chess clock which has 2 clock faces the covers of which have come off. The covers are either glass or plastic made hard to tell, but they cover the clock faces with a metal bezel around them. The same way the glass cover of a hand watch would. Problem is I have no idea how they were originally secured to the clock face, my best guess would be using a thin o-ring like a gasket which create a seal to secure them in place. Also there doesn’t seem to be any latching mechanism on the bezels. Any help is appreciated
