Masterful- the yearning is so palpable- clarity of tone and diction are as good as it gets and the pianist is right there to convey every turn of mood without artifice or sensationalism- truly a performance by both great artists with a perfect balance of poise and passion. This should be required listening (again and again) for anyone who loves Schubert's music and all music lovers in general.

I own several old LP's performed by Schreier.... mostly his Mendelssohn lieder.....for the longest time I stopped listening to him and laughing, referred to him as "Peter Der Schreihals!" I honestly must say that upon listening to this, the tenderness he displays and the subtle and wonderful technique... my interest is again renewed. THANK YOU for sharing this marvelous video!!!
