This is a PCB holder sent to me by the Banggood company. You can get more details and purchase information at goo.gl/LnRzy1

Three drawbacks of this PCB-holder. 1. It is unable to turn/flip. Making it almost unusable in through-hole assembly work 2. They should have made the gap adjustable (would have been easy to make the holder in two parts screwed together in the gap) 3. The holders are metal. Which means that you can not hold a PCB up and test it with applied power without risking a short. You can also risk shorting a loaded cap with this holder The benefits of this board is that it looks very nice, it will work very good for surface mount projects and it is low enough for use with a microscope.

All good points and I have to say that to this day I haven't found the perfect PCB holder for phone repairs. iPad Rehab has some made specifically for various iPhone boards but as far as a one size fits all I usually end up using the old school spring loaded screw type that I'm not really a fan. Height, size, and stability wise they seem to be the easiest all around even though that screw is a pain sometimes.

what about the heat resistance of the base?

Just reread your comment. The footings and outer frame probably will not handle too much. Earlier answer: Good question. It is made of aluminum alloy and acrylic so the center plate can probably take quite a bit but the outer frame I'm sure would melt under direct heat. I'll test it with hot as soon as I get a chance.

it's holding jig and not a hanging jig and definitely not load bearing so why all the load and hanging test??? Totally off the mark on reviewing this thing. LOL
