I didn't even care if the tutorial I was watching was something I wanted to learn or not, I still watched it because you were funny and engaging and brilliant with what you showcased. At last I find out what the stupid environment sphere is for is primitives. To make an environment shot is pretty tricky and need the right equipment. After effects is brilliant. Andrew Kramer, what a guy!!!! My guru. Thanks for all the lessons. You are a great teacher.

So I have purchased element 3d v2.2 and I don’t have this environment sphere. I don’t have a primitives option. Is there another option within the newest version that allows me to do the same? I tried it with a normal sphere object but could Not achieve same results. Please help.

@@artteam3977 Hey do this. Take default circle found in element 3D and import any image to it. Then click on "sphere model" click on "Surface options" (Looks like a window with an arrow pointing to it) now just click on "Invert Normals" You should have that 3D effect

Daniel Walker In case you didn't figure this out on your own yet, I just found the answer. If you download the pack from Video Copilot (in your download section of your purchases) you'll get the pack. +iSaL7 When you log in to your account at Video CoPilot, click on Downloads (top left), then click "Element 2", and finally "V1_Icons_Primitives" on the right side. I think that's how you download it, but it's been a while. The tutorial I linked to above will show you how to install the pack once downloaded.

wow ive tried it, looks great and one can make lots of things with this, but sadly, when i tried it, it moves very very slow, i guess my graphic card is the problem ( i got an amd radeon r7 240 4g ddr3 ) what card u think will work smothley with enviorment maps ?

For stitching equirectangula panoramic photos, the free program Microsoft ICE is highly recommendable.

after effects, which is a completly different program, its more of an effects creation program, vegas is more of a Cut a movie program, meaning, putting clips togather program

For those that can't afford this, try Blender and $8 reflection globe from Walmart. Pretty much can do the exact same thing. Just set the environment settings to 'mirror ball'

I got that using v2.2 is not possible following these steps . I couldnt find that sphere ambient... I criated one single and nothing happened, scaling up at group 2 nothing changes. another question is why couldnt I see the image I choose as bg in the setting;;; I do it and the object gets all white, just when I confirm all and see in the comp the image appears,

Go to composition settings -> 3D renderer -> Change the Classic 3D to Ray-Traced. that should work :)

***** No Andrew but the problem is not that we already know that's all its not a big deal a big problem is actually when we create an animated logo and then we wrap around its environment sphere like you did all refl is ok but real pain comes when we make a plane below thew animated logo and then we want logo to reflect with animation on that plane below in it not environment we want any object in AAE reflect on plane which also a part of element 3d its not happening plz help and hey we don,t want to create fake reflection just want real reflection with E3D ???!!!
