Karen did an amazing job on that board. I am wondering if the game ever sends in a 0, 0 input? I never saw both the input lights off. It would make an OR gate fairly boring. I also find it interesting that she won so quickly at 25:26. I realize that the AND gate would have low until 1,1 and she happened to install the banana plug just before that status but it is still interesting.

The puzzles could be a tutorial tour through basic logic. The first few could be things like changing the state of a bit through a not gate, moving on to other gates and then combining them into flip flops, registers, counters, etc.

21:56 Since the game theme is kinda hackery anyway, maybe you should just stick the logic chips on top of the puzzle board in sockets? Just because it would look kinda cool? Practical decoration. You could "draw" the power and ground lines on the diagram on top, but physically connect them below to keep the connections simple for players.

4 states are quite limiting for counter puzzles. Apart from that 8 inputs, 8 outputs, limited gates, and limited time will make it a really nice game.

I'm wondering if the logic puzzles couldn't be computer generated. It seems like that would remove the likelihood of becoming familiar with the puzzles/solutions and needing to swap them out.

You could build a thinner Lid, by adding foldable kickstands inside the upper plate of the lid. Maybe automatically lifted lifted by gravity and hold in place by a small magnet.

simple fix for that shape you dont want, add a slot to the arm and the cut out can be a zig zag path so long as angles are not too steep, steel/copper wire can be used as a guide with 3d printed grooved roller guide with bearing on a screw/peg.

wire is used as a guide to prevent wear, arm is on servo with a slot that the peg can slide side to side as its being pushed through a zigzag cut out lined with the wire. and you have hot glue, can use to help prevent nuts from loosening as i did not see any lock tite used

cool game. I'm a bit of a novice at this type of thing so the logic game would kick my butt. But, on a completely unrelated note I think it would be super cool if you made something using vacuum tube circuitry. Maybe a nixi clock, but tubes for the control circuitry, or maybe a simple calculator will full tube circuitry.

1. Push button to roll die. 2. Die roll appears. Timer starts. Given lights and result lights flash. 3. You have until the end of the timer to use the given lights and the logic gates to match the result lights. 4. If they match before the timer runs out, the four success lights will flash and your pawn will automatically move the number of spaces of your die roll. 5. Play moves to the next player.

I don't believe Ben makes one-handed PS4 controllers, only XBox controllers. He has said that the soldering on the PS4 controllers is too small and intricate thus being too difficult and time consuming to hack in order to sell them. :(

Not really. We can do squared finger joints, but since the cuts are always straight from top to bottom of the material, doing joints of this manner are rather limited. (I know it would look really pretty if we could.)

Hi Ben, great show you have .... I've watched every episode since your begining. instead of wiring and play with just Gates.... why you don't place a (touch?) LCD and have a rasberry Pi display random logical puzzles which even the community can send them to you and implement or even it can be connected to dropbox or any other service and the community can upload their games/puzzles ? .... And the next thing is that everyone who watches the show will make the game following your lead and we call the game "Hackmanji Online" :) .... just a thought ....anyway I have some other ideas of innovative projects but I will try to hit you up by email :) Keep up the AWESOME job

The background music behind your talking is really distracting and too loud. I don't know if its just me, but I think it's not necessary. (Update) seems to be coming from a combo of my headphones over standard laptop speakers I usually use and running the Boom 2 Equalizer. Turning the Equalizer off makes the background music a bit quieter but its still about equally as loud as your voices. (Update 2) Tried lots of settings, video not watchable. Would be awesome if there was an option to turn off the background music.

Leaving comments like that is very rude, especially when you say that someone is not contributing much, when this person really does contribute. Imagine someone will call you useless, when it's not true. Ironically, what is really not contributing much, are rude complaining comments with personal subjective opinions, that only kill positive mood of other people.
