The dicer kit comes with two discs. Place the one with grid into the bowl first. The grid towards the handle. It is stationary and doesn’t spin. The second disc goes in next and snaps over the stem. Install the cover onto the main bowl to close. How the dicer works… turn on the motor and add the food from top. Pushing the food down (potato) will slice. Continue to push the food through the grid. The top disc spins and slices , while the grid disc is stationary.

Why would you just show us the pieces without showing how they work? I came to the manufacturers video to get professional instructions for someone like me who just unpacked the box and finds it all a bit overwhelming. The person demo’ing did her job well but why wasn’t she instructed to show us how to use each blade since you have different sizes of everything? Not to mention she also seems to have trouble locking pieces in place. This doesn’t make me excited to use this. I waited a long time to get this and now, im not sure if I made a mistake. I’m more overwhelmed now than before I watched this.

Because it's a 13 cup processor with a motor not only crazy loud but almost half the wattage as the older style 7 cup model ( now called pro classic) They even tried to quiet the motor on camera. You should hear how loud it is in person. Look up pro classic or prep 11 plus and see how much better the induction motors are in the older style machines are. All the "boxy" 7, 11, and 14 cup are still good with quality motors that when you stop pulsing the blade actually stops. Same with the "prep" series same good motors. When pulsing for 1 second, it's no good if the blade takes 2-3 more seconds to come to stop. These new Cuisinart really don't live up to the cuisinart name I recommend getting one of the older style a before they're discontinued. Any of the box base style or the prep series. There's a reason the box style have a 5 year motor warranty and the prep series (same motors) boast a 10 year warranty These are the same models you see people have for 30+ years. There's a reason.

@seikibrian86414 жыл бұрын
The point she was making was that, unlike the classic Cuisinart models, you can turn the bowl over without the s-blade falling out. On the older models it doesn't lock into the bowl, so you have to stick a finger up through the hole in the bottom of the bowl to hold the blade in as you turn over the bowl.

When I saw this (a prospective customer), I thought this thing needs its own room, and a 3-credit course to figure out how to use. This is the antithesis of how to make things simple. Like many in the comments are telling, a vinaigrette is not the reason why someone buys a food processor. It's main function is to dice/chop/slice. Instead of getting to the point, this video goes on and on, and in the process reveals how complicated this machine is. You need two people to manage this thing. Engineers gone wild.

I just purchased this from Costco. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to pull the small pusher (round circle) out of the medium pusher in the lid. It is stuck, brand new! I called the Cuisinart Hotline and after 40 minutes on hold, was told to watch this video. Not helping. She twists the piece out and said something about locking, but I can't get the piece to budge at all! Any suggestions, other than packing up all the pieces and taking back to Costco for an exchange?

The small pusher locks in place by a simple twist. Before lifting out, you have to unlock it by twisting in the opposite direction. If it's too tight the first time, get a friend with a strong grip to help you.

As an owner of this exact machine. IT IS JUNK! Notice how she did everything EXCEPT use the machine as a food processor. The wide mouth feed tube is a complete design flaw . Does not engage the motor safety on switch until the wide mouth pusher is at the bottom of the tube. In other word, you can fill the wide mouth tube full but the moteor will not operate. See the safety switch activator at 3:05 - 3:16. Think about it When shredding cabbage of Frenching green beans, half of it gets stuck up in a concave recess in the lid. A complete mess when you take of the lid. You have been warned.

You have to remove the cover (or at least twist it to the unlocked position) to get the bowl onto the base, otherwise the safety plunger blocks it from locking into place. Similarly, you have to remove (or unlock) the lid to then get the bowl off the base.

Why are tt motors in these new units so much less powerful (watts) and so much louder? They also don't stop fast. When you pulse for 1 second, it takes 2-3 seconds for blade to stop. Example: my 7 cup pro classic has a quiet 600 watt induction motor that stops in a dime. This is a 13 cup and only has 350 watts and takes forever for blade to stop Why did they go for much worse parts in these? There's a reason the older style "boxy" looking ones and the next gen after "prep" series last so long I know of the 7 cup (used to just be called DLC-10, now called pro classic) that lasted 30 years. Same with the custom 14 (used to be called dlc-7). I don't like these new models. I'd love to know why they went away from what's been working for 40 years as far as the good induction motors. :-/ Glad I have all the older style ones.

Thoughts here... I agree with others that she should have demonstrated use of the slicing and shredding discs, and how the dicing kit works. She just shows what you get when you unpack the thing, and very little about actual use of the machine. It's great that the slicer disc has adjustable thickness and the shredding disc is reversible. But what about showing how to prepare foods using them? And I bought this model for the dicing kit and there's hardly any explanation about that at all. Frankly, Ms. Rogers is not an engaging presenter and seems unorganized. At least 5 times she says "oh, I forgot to mention" this or that. Cuisinart, this video needs a complete re-do with more useful content and with a professional presenter (like someone on QVC).
