My friend said linux wont support printers specifically mine... Mine was canon lb2900b

You mean Lbp900b? This printer is supported. The most time printer works just out of the box. You can try by making a live usb to test a Linux distro.

And if it’s don’t work out of box, you need to install the Canon CAPT driver

I uploaded it on a whim, but the result was disappointing! This damn operating system is becoming more and more disgraceful. A total pain in the ass. I could only use it for a few hours. Absolutely awful!!!
