Do you just replace the video with a JPEG of the album art, but still keep the video playing in the background? I don't know how to properly set stuff up like that, so my video is blocked for now until I can figure out how to convince people it's for reaction purposes.

Agree on Another World but I think this song is very creative and just groovy AF. The breakdown is next level, the simple addition of the harmonics layered with it is the like simplest thing but no one has thought of that and that’s the kind of shit that sets it apart. That’s a fucking trend setter.
@METALBIRB

I'm sure they're not the first but Northlane "Obelisk" actually have already done the natural harmonics over a breakdown groove.

This song is one of my favorites. Been a fan for 10 years. Really thought you'd react differently! It's that gojira sound but I for one was on the edge of my seat through the song and they came back so heavy with a twist on their sound from usual gojira. Everyone has different opinions. Just like how I think architects is sounding like shit now. Which is crazy cause they are also one of my favorite bands. This new gojira song crushes in my opinion. That harmonic breakdown at the end is like war of the worlds sounds. Just epic sounding. That's my rant and good day to you metal birb!

This is by far my most anticipated album release ever. Magma is my favorite album of all time and I’m excited to see how they follow up that album here. Born For One Thing is awesome and I really love the riff writing in it and the drumming is of course excellent. That breakdown is so cool and I’m normally not into breakdowns at all. Another World has grown on me an awful lot too. This album is shaping up to be one of my favorites from Gojira. Probably on par with L’enfant Sauvage if I have to guess,which is my 2nd favorite of theirs at the moment.

My biggest appeal for gojira's music is the primal feeling, it feels almost tribal, and it's so visceral, makes you feel like you're in the forest, hunting animals or something. And yet at the same time they can also make something feel ethereal, ominous and just outer-body. For an example, their use of natural harmonics is so amazing, it sometimes almost feels like a didgeridoo, and other times it sounds almost transcendent and make you feel like you're enlightened or some shit lol. While this song wasnt the most creative or mind blowing, like flying whales or art of dying, but I'm happy that it could still return that amazing primal wild feeling that I would once feel from their music, and what I felt was kinda missing from most of Magma. I dunno, that's just me personally, and why I like them.

This song was pretty much exactly what I wanted. It feels like From Mars To Sirius with a little bit of Magma mixed in. I presonally think this is my favorite song since L'enfant. I liked Magma, but not much was really mindblowing for me. This is heavy as hell, creative, and melodic. I love it 🤘

Nice reaction. If you haven't heard their older stuff, it would be really cool to see you react to more songs off from Mars to sirius or the way of all flesh. "From the sky" or "in the wilderness", "where dragons dwell" are great from the former. "Oroborus" and "wolf down the earth" are great from the latter.

I like both songs and wouldn't skip them if they came on a shuffled playlist, but yeah, not the best music Gojira has put out. Neither songs have stopped me from playing Orbit Culture and Spiritbox on repeat right now. Speaking of Orbit Culture, would love to see your reaction/review to the new bonus track/music video "Mute the Silent". That song fucking rips!!

There is a lot of references to the colors black and white 1. Camera focuses on the checkered floor many times. 2. Mario wearing a black and white hoodie 3. Little boy wearing jock black and white hoodie 4. Girls zebra pants 5. Two dudes running with white shirt/black tie 6. Mario’s drum kit 7.Christians guitar 8. Jean-michels bass video ends with black and white pyramid The entire video feels like a spell casting ritual...the song was made to hype people up with the breakdown for maximum pre orders possible, the song itself sounds formulated top to bottom to appease fans

kinda disappointed with the new gojira stuff tbh. its not bad, and its strictly vocals imo. they aren't the powerful vocals that i've come to expect and love; doesnt matter where you are in their discography, the vocals bring so much emotion and life to their music. but the vocals in these new tracks are kind of underwhelming.

I think that’s more about the way they’re mixing the vocals more than Joe’s vocal performance. His vocals sound powerful just like on the first 5 albums. But on parts of Magma and the two new songs they’re definitely not as up front in the mix. Thinking of songs like Pray,Magma,and The Shooting Star in addition to the new singles.
@nicholasdavidson1191
@nicholasdavidson1191 3 жыл бұрын
@@corbinm5237 It totally is the mix. but, on a song like BFOT, and even in parts of Another World, it would be nice to hear his vocals on top of the instrumental rather than in the background. On Magma, that album carefully chose how to mix his vocals. These new tracks just sound wrong to me.
@corbinm5237
@corbinm5237 3 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasdavidson1191 yeah I can understand that. Joe’s vocals are a huge highlight of the band for me so I wish for that too. But since he’s trying to do different things on the newer music vocally,I’m not surprised part of that includes mixing and producing differently too.
