If you ever have the pleasure to meet Lek Chaillet, you will realise this woman is God’s gift to animals, not just elephants but all the variety of animals at her sanctuaries. I had the pleasure to volunteer at Chiang Mai, and it will be a warmth in my heart till the day I die, thank you Lek and Derek.

Gilda McCully Her videos, and Paul Barton’s YT channel (he plays piano outside for elephants) have made me totally obsessed with elephants. I told my husband “We have to get a baby elephant! 😆

Erawan looks like a beautiful place for elephants to roam, free and happy in the jungle thanks to Lek! We must Petition the Govt. of Thailand to STOP the inhumane Phajaan that tortures and kills so many baby elephants! It is heartbreaking to even think of it! Thank goodness young people understand elephants need love, kindness and care and space to roam with their families, away from people who only harm them. Perhaps they can change things. God bless Lek and all who support her!

I'm so glad that there are so many tourists who are interested in having a more meaningful and respectful interaction with elephants! If enough people volunteer or donate to places like this instead of going to a place that supports elephant abuse, then eventually there will be no demand for such places.

Don't dare call yourself an elephant lover if you even consider going to one of these trekking camps.The abuse & suffering they go through is heart breaking & i don't know what can be exciting or thrilling about being on an animal that is only letting you do so out of fear because they've literally had the life beaten out of them.These gentle giants need our compassion & respect,not chains & bull hooks

I wonder how people from other countries can help stop the abuse? Especially the “crush” that people do , to “train” the elephant. It is horrible. I want to help stop the abuse . Elephants deserve a happy elephant life. 💕🐘

I think they can report the videos of abusive places, also when visiting those countries refuse to visit circuses and riding park and demand to visit the sanctuaries. also, donating to the sanctuaries.

AmphipolisXoXo yup and abusers who think it’s ok to “ crush” them so they can control them. Shame on those people! Elephants are the symbol of Thailand, yet some think it’s ok to abuse them?! Wtf is wrong with some people. I just hope the abuse ends, and all elephants can live happy, elephant lives, free of abuse

The most important thing to do in saving the elephants is through Thailand s government concern... They should have the Law which they wouldnt allow elephants to use for humans resources... Trekking logging and entertainment.... By this.you can save them... Support all the project regards to conservation still this project can help on your tourism indistry... People who use elephants as slaves must put into prison and charge penalty.... Thats the better thing to do...
@lestki5 жыл бұрын
And then there's the stupid. I've just been to the Chiang Mai Nature Park, a dream of mine for so long. On telling my brother about 'the crush' and why you shouldn't ride elephants he just said that's what they're there for. I spent about half an hour showing him crush videos but he said if he wants to ride an elephant he will. There is just no hope for some people so we need to remove all entertainment by elephants including painting etc.
