My Week At Elephant Nature Park in Thailand

I share some of the amazing things that i witnessed at this sanctuary for elephants & others. Asian elephants need us to stop being part of their abuse. Please don't support elephant rides, elephant street begging, elephant massaging or elephants painting. Let elephants be elephants & visit this wonderful place.

Now all tourist must be aware and dont support all those people who offer to ride on this elephants...Come to think of it your happy to ride because its exciting but how about this poor elephants...Please be aware and avoid riding elephants...but instead help and save them in this kibd of cruelty and abuse....lucky theres still ELEPHANT NATURE SUNCTUARY that take good care of this elephants....The woman behind of this LEK i salute you...

Happy elephants make me happy! I love to see them in a herd, feeding, playing in the mud, drinking & bathing at the river. Mothers & aunties love the babies so much, protect them and look after them with much tenderness and care. Elephants are intelligent, emotional creatures that deserve our respect and protection, as do all animals! I love elephants!💕🐘💕

I been watching videos of Lek & the Elle's for a year now. It was amazing to see the start of their life at Leks park witch you captured in this video. It made me cry. This will be always be one of my favorite videos. I dream of one day being able to go there to give back to theses Amazing animals.

Watching this in April 2019, I THINK the elephant riding camp seen in the background has converted to Lek's model of keeping elephants natural and happy and cared for. If you go through their videos, many neighbouring elephant camps are following their lead especially as they are able to offer financial support for those who do. Lek is truly changing the world.

Thank you for posting this. I have grown to love all the eles at elephant nature park, it's like watching a soap opera, only with elephants, My most favorite animal on the planet!! I do wish the park and visitors could somehow show us their names more often because I have trouble keeping them all straight. For example: what happened after som jai after she was rescued? She was already 70 so l figured she wouldn't have much time left, but I hope she gets to at least experience love from humans!

I love watching the elephants at Elephant Nature Park, where they are free to roam and play, and are well-fed and looked after by Lek and her wonderful Helpers and Volunteers. I hope and pray every elephant can be free one day soon!

These remind me of the carabaos and horses here in the Philippines. No one will rescue the carabaos here. They work at the farm all their life and they also carry heavy load. The horses here are used to pull a heavy cart with so many people inside. No one will rescue them. My heart never stops crying whenever I think of those poor animals who are destined to serve people for the rest of their life.

Patty, I just read the LA Times Letters article that you wrote. I agree 💯! Here in the hills in Bakersfield CA, wildlife is being buried over with soccer, baseball & tennis fields. Not a single piece of bush is left for them to strive in. I've talked to the engineer in charge to please leave a strip of trees, bushes long enough for them. But as they are clearing things, I don't see anything for animals. So sad!

I´m just wondering why she is separated from her herd? Birth is highlight in a herd's life. In the wild the herd takes part in the birth and surround the expectant mother to protect her and the calf and to help if needed (e.g. the calf's granny and the matriarch).That's their nature.

How is it more abusive to elephants than to horses or any other beast of burden? I very much suspect this is much less scientifically based reasoning than it is neo-moralist outrage culture - where anything but the utopian ideal falls short and becomes animal cruelty. Elephant rides and even wildlife hunting in general, generate the finances to support animal conservation. Money that otherwise would not be there. This is not to say we should be apathetic to animal welfare, but at least take a look at yourself before you attempt to virtue signal your oh so superior morals; what have YOU personally ever done for the animals you pretend to care so much about? I suspect nothing.

Where are the bulls kept? Can the females in the nature park mate with them? Can the elle's with missing limbs go to the elephant hospital and get new limbs made. I saw where they will make them for free. I hope Lek knows about that hospital and can get them seen for free!*
