Elephants have an innate instinct to migrate. Confining them in restricted areas will not work. Elephants need large areas where to roam. This is how nature works. As the elephants are very destructive with respect to vegetation they consume because of their voracious apatite, their migration to other areas gives time for the areas the elephants had previously herded upon to regenerate its vegetation. A circular migration system must be created whereby the elephants are allowed enough space to herd in circular fashion until the time that the vegetation of their previous herding grounds have been fully regenerated and replenished with vegetation whereby the elephants would again turn back to their original feeding pastures.

I am well aware that if they had been humans and Uighurs or Falun Gong then they would be in dead trouble. I suppose this video has been put out to try and counter in some way the torrent of bad publicity the CCP has been getting at a political level but the only thing that would remedy that would be a counter revolution and the leaders arraignment in the dock at the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

I saw that Disney+ Feature which Megan narrated, elephants will always trek that path over and over again. Looking forward to a follow up documentary on this @CGTN. Good job!
Yes, the kind approach to animals - is the right approach of humanity to nature, from where we are all came.

I thought they slept standing up too, they look so sweet all huddled up together sleeping, and I love the little ones. I’m glad they are being allowed to migrate and not being shot at.

This was so wholesome and informative. A national preserve dedicated to these majestic creatures is a great idea that harkens thoughts of Africa. I took it for granted that where they migrated from was “just” a national park and not an actual preserve. Do it, China!

There dying bro! Look at the end of the movie.... poisoned by the herders on their way....they let them drink sewer water....FOOLS...Elephants drinking from sewer main at 4 minute mark ...and then after all gathered round a concrete wastewater treatment tank ..drinking their fill! Is it any wonder all are lying out flat at the end of the piece..... 'CRUELTY to ANIMALS', is all I can say about this propaganda piece!

@@beebsarelli We should help animals in our own capacity. In the case of the elephant, the Chinese govt is helping them.

I am from an area where interaction with wild Asian elephants is a regular phenomenon. It's where the Gangetic plain meets the Himalayan foothills in Eastern India. They roam across a very large area, including the neighboring countries viz Nepal and Bhutan. Population encroachment to the wildlife habitat is a problem here. I like the approach shown by the authority as shown in this video, though it's very difficult to continue with this endeavor with rising number of similar herds. Only if we can vacate more space for them with our sustained urbanization, there can be a chance of peaceful coexistence. And even that has a tipping point. An optimum equilibrium has to be defined later.
