Practice exercises, not just songs. Break out the pad. Anybody could start from nothing and learn steady 8 or 12 on a hand in two weeks with a pad. Look up marching snare exercises, there’s plenty of free material. Diddles, single stroke rolls, paradiddles, flam rudiments. Triplet/16th grids. Give yourself a foundation.
@grizzlywhisker2 жыл бұрын
@@mister_kaniela exactly, I have marching sticks in my bed that I use while I watch movies. I have practice pads in almost every room of my house. I work my left foot while I’m driving. Drums is all about repetition of rudiments/exercises over and over until it’s just muscle memory. I’ve been playing between 25-30 years and you really want to have a routine. If you stop playing even for just a week, your chops will suffer. Think of it like working out.

@rickwells56243 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter how much I practice or how long I've been playing, I can not get my brain to split like that or go that fast. I've been drumming for almost 40 years now. Im just an old-school rocker. I'm solid and steady with a few flashy tricks. But the things most of you drummers are doing these days is just not in my wheelhouse. But I'm impressed and amazed at how far the art has come and happy for all who do it. I very much enjoy watching it. Although Stepario Siberiano is not normal on any level. That guy is not human lol Words like, amazing, or incredible or brilliant and even magnificent do not describe his level of talent. But i thank him for sharing it with us.
@35milesofleadАй бұрын
Don't confuse talent for work ethic. We have not seen his 10,000+ hours of practice.
@rickwells5624Ай бұрын
@35milesoflead I agree completely on that. Absolutely, without a doubt, the man has spent countless hours, days, weeks, and it all turned into years. Although a lot of people are the same, everybody learns differently. Sone have a mirr natural ability to do something than Others. Some can eventually learn, and some people just don't have it. Estepario is exceptional. His practice and dedication are probably the biggest factors in his abilities. But I'd also wager he started with a natural ability to multi-task. ambidextrous, i guess ya might say. Like I said, I've been playing drums for 4o years. Couldn't even try to tell you how many hours I've got practicing. I'm just don't have what others have. And it's ok. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not slouch. I've had a great music life. I used to get calls from different bands wanting me to set in on drums or guitar if their main guy was gone or quit. Usually, it was the drummer filled on for. Thanks for your comment. You are spot on.

Nah see, the true art we be blessed to witness here, so graciously bestowed by what other but unknown forces that have summoned from the nethermost regions of some divine progenitor this God among Men, is his unnatural ability to beast through all those epic feat's effortlessly, singlehandedly, without so much as the slightest incumbrance to the ordinary, common affairs, chores, and curriculums performed simultaneously by his opposite hand, sparing ample enough attention span for his crowing, jubilant facial expressions. Man I’ve always played by ear, learned a couple rudiments but never applied them to the whole kit but I as well just played along to songs I liked. I did try to learn them lick for lick and I was and am pretty good. But after so long it becomes a hindrance. Watching today’s drummers and how they’ve got it down to a science really shows the importance of mastering the rudiments and especially applying them to the entire kit while also creating rhythms with them. It’s really key to playing all those crazy fills
