I also use aloe gel from live plants. Is best to cut off all of the green and then put the clear gel or pulp in a blender and blend it then pour it through a paper filter into a jar. That pulp is going to dry and build up in the locs and you will never get it out. You have to strain it.

Aloe vera is the absolute BEST!! My hair is locd and I have a sensitive scalp, aloe vera is the only gel that doesnt irritate it plus I love the soft hold it creates. Aloe vera is is a natural plant and makes my hair feel softer and healthier because there are no chemicals or preservatives. I use aloe juice mixed with almond oil in a spray bottle and lightly mist my hair every other day or as needed

Thanks for sharing this because I’ve been trying to figure out what will help my scalp. I’m going to try just using this. It seems as if oils irritate my scalp. What do you wash your locs with? @msvirgo317

@@queenprevails1057 sorry it took so long to reply!! I wash my hair with Design essentials peppermint/ aloe anti itch shampoo OR any type of moisturizing shampoo with tea trea or peppermint in it.😊
