How much of a difference did the upper and lower intake make been thinking about getting them but haven't really been able to find much info on them

Question - I just ordered and received the intake pipe and air intake for my 2012 s60 t5. Is the installation essentially the same as this video? I know the stock snorkel is routed to the left side of the car in my own, but other than that everything looks similar, or the same.

ELEVATE Volvo Performance update - so I did have to drill a hole to relocate the ecu. I got the intake installed, but have given up for the day on the intake pipe. Reaching the bottom of the rubber hose connecting to the turbo has been a bitch and a half so to speak. The intake sounds really good though.

Unfortunately, we don't get diesel Volvos in the US, we we have not been able to create a kit.

Our Turbo Intake Pipe is 3" all the way down to the turbo.

Engine components are different between the T5 and 2.4i, so no these will not fit. Suspension and brake components WILL fit. www.elevatecars.com

I was curious on mine there's a hose that connects to The turbo pipe that has a blue clip connector can't seem to remove how did you remove the air hose to turbo pipe

The cooler the air that reaches the combustion chamber, the better as cooler air is richer in oxygen to assist in the burn of the power stroke. Reality is, on a turbocharged vehicle, the importance of "cold" air is far less of a factor than on a normally aspirated vehicle. On a turbocharged vehicle, the incoming air is pressurized by the turbo, where it heats up significantly, then passes through an intercooler to be cooled back down before it passes the throttle body and enters the engine. On a normally aspirated vehicle, the air goes straight into the engine without being heated by the turbocharger. Our air filter is located low and in front of the engine behind the radiator, where a constant flow of air is fed as the car is at speed and even at a stop when the fan turns on. While the water temperature may be 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) inside the radiator, a radiator is not so efficient that it expels all of its heat to the ambient air passing through it. When at speeds over 15mph (24kph), there is sufficient ram air passing through the radiator that the actual air temperature increase by the heat being expelled by the air conditioning condenser and radiator is negligible.

The ECM/ECU gets relocated from the air box to the bracket we provide with the Air Intake.

Power gains associated with these three components is dependent on other factors on your vehicle (Performance Software, Downpipe, Exhaust, etc.) as they are all related to air flow and air demand. Most customers see anywhere from +15hp to +35hp depending on other equipment.

No, not for these three products (Inlet Manifold, Air Intake, Turbo Intake Pipe). If you swap to our Port Polished Lower Inlet Manifold, then you will need to remove the fuel injectors.

No, it is not required. However, disconnecting the battery would reset the computer and allow it to learn the new hardware components faster.

Hello friend, I always follow you, and thanks to your videos I've learned so many things, but now I have a problem with my c30 t5 with kit k16 stage 4, the machine pushes hard and has a perfect mapping but every time I change gear Machine does not accelerate anymore! I stall, I have no mistakes and I do not have any power cut, then I take gas for 1 second, I push the gas still and the car returns to push hard, I work with these pressures: 1.4 boost, constant 1.1 bar, you have idea What can it be? I've mounted a solenoid Mac, bypass blowoff alluminium!

+byron d Taylor : Are you referring to the Air Intake? If so, the short answer is "no". Consider that once the car is underway, the air temperature in front of and behind the radiator changes very little as radiators are far from 100% efficient at heat transfer.

+byron d Taylor At a stand still for several minutes, yes the engine bay can collect heat. Once underway, the heat is exhaust out quite rapidly.

so, ELEVATE, what happens to the ECM heat dissipation which was done efficiently before using the turbo air intake route inside original air box? Nothing is better than the original project: 1 - The original intake manifold with finned style helps dissipate heat while ELEVATE intake manifold rounded-flat design helps keep the intake temps higher, working pretty much like a hemi combustion chamber and 2 - The ECM stops getting forced-air cooling and starts to deteriorate faster than it should by suffering severe direct heat radiation from engine bay. Am I wrong? If yes, then explain why volvo engineers made the project that way.

1. Inlet Manifold design: The plastic, factory design "fins" are for structure, not cooling. Do an internet search and you'll find many of these plastic manifolds have burst. You cannot judge the inside flow characteristics of our manifold design based on the shape of the outside. "Hemi combustion chamber"?! You are not considering the speed of the boosted air as it flows through the inlet manifold. 2. ECM cooling: Take a look at the factory location of the ECM on the Mk2 Ford Focus RS (higher output version of the same engine). The ECM is located in an ENCLOSED plastic box behind the radiator with ZERO air circulation. Our design features air circulation for the ECM.

i agree with most of you said but i wont accept the ECM solution, what you stated doesnt mean the focus has better engineering involved, it in fact indeed is worse than a volvo judging by that fact you mentioned alone.

so basically, volvo's effort to use forced cooling on ECM means nothing? the finned style of the back of ECM also means nothing? nothing in car industry is made with no reason, because it costs money and costs means lower profits. "oh, today is sunny, time to mount a beautiful velocity stack right in the front of the ECM on our volvos"
