Nice break down and comparison between these two recent mini PCs from each team.

Despite using more power, the AMD system runs cooler and quieter. Better performance with better acoustics and thermals is more important than using 40 more watts. Dont think u would notice a 40 watt diff in your monthly electricity bill.

Finally! At least someone is using the latest Cynebench! And not the version from 2023. BTW, how did You managed to use only 70W from the 115W power CPU (turbo mode) from the outlet during the test? Looks very Intel'ish. Power limit from the manufacturer? Other videos on YT shows the same 185H CPU with an Asus NUC 14 Pro+ draw about 140W and still loses to the AMD Ryzen AI 370. And how the hell 370HX CPU package draws 90W??? It's impossible! It's a 55W CPU!!!
@ElevatedSystems2 ай бұрын
All the testing was done at out of the box settings from the manufacturer. Geekom went with a good balance of power and performance, while Beelink seems to have just went with maxed power. Both systems are power limited by the included 120W power supply which is why the the Intel has limited turbo boosting.

Hi, thank you for your review. I would like to ask you, at 13:26, when you say "we still see some typical AMD challenges" do you mean that usually AMD processors do have some compatibility issues with Resolve or other SW? I'm quite new hear and would like to buy a new PC for video/photo editing and would like to incurr in this kind of SW glitches if known.
@ElevatedSystemsАй бұрын
AMD graphics cards, while excellent for gaming, are often less favored for professional photo and video editing due to limited support for specialized software optimizations. Many industry-standard creative tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop, are heavily optimized for NVIDIA’s CUDA cores and proprietary technologies like NVENC for hardware-accelerated rendering and AI-based tools. AMD GPUs lack these CUDA cores and rely on OpenCL for acceleration, which is less widely supported and sometimes less efficient. Additionally, AMD’s driver support and stability for professional applications are occasionally seen as less robust compared to NVIDIA’s Studio Drivers, designed specifically for creative workloads.

one of the things I liked was how much quieter the ser9 was at max loads. What are the power draws and fan noise levels at with average loads like media playback and idle time between tests. Would you feel comfortable with these in a studio during a live stream? would the fan noise annoy a family watching their favorite channels on youtube? is the idle power draw less than a 9W light bulb

I'd look at a mini-pc with oculink if I were considering using it for gaming. Sure it kind of defeats the purpose of ultra sff if you have an eGPU setup with a full size 7700 XT and SFX power supply on top of a dock, but I'd take that modularity/possibility on top of the same internal iGPU setup than without. USB4 or whatever is too much of a bottleneck to really matter compared to oculink.

With all that being said would a better option be the Beelink GTi14 Ultra AI PC Intel® Core™ UItra 9 185H with the future option of using the docking station which has now been updated to accept 3 slot cards. Thoughts? One video said the docking station wont help much with editing. Thank you

In your honest opinion, can I save $500 buy buying last Gen but also future proof Doom Eternal. I'm not going to play WuKong. Should I just wait until July to buy a Ser9 and half the cost ? It seems SER9 is better, but it consumes a lot more power, too much for a a mini-pc in my opinion. I might go with the Geekom one. Also, the Geekom has a big advantage over the Beelink. Living in the EU, I don't have to pay import duties buying it in the official store. But I have to if I order the Beelink.

oh wow Beelink Ser9 AMD is now selling for over $1100 whereas GT1 Mega Intel for under $800. And the fact he didn't talk about price factor, this upload is nothing but a shill for AMD products. To me, GT1 Mega is a clear winner from pricing standpoint.
@ElevatedSystemsАй бұрын
I did mention pricing but it’s not a major factor in the comparison because its the one factor that changes frequently. In fact at the time of filming they were pretty evenly priced with the GT1 Mega priced at $950 and the SER9 at $999. The change in pricing most likely reflects supply and demand. The GT1 was struggling to sell so it’s price had to be cut, while the demand for the SER9 was overwhelming supply. What conclusion can you draw from that?
