I think it's mainly because your classmate's skills at setting are low so you have a higher chance of winning by just throwing the ball on the other side of the net rather than keeping the hot potato on your side where some of your teammates may drop it. At least it's similar in my class where keeping the ball is like keeping a grenade you want to throw it at your enemy at all costs because if not you lose. That's why we are taught to use our hips to give more strength into the receiving so it will naturally fly on the other side of the net after the enemy serve.

I normal bump (what we call pass where I go to school) by clasping my hands together (finger intertwined) with my thumbs one on top of the other the ball normally goes straight up and even behind me. Tried this out with a bouncey ball in my room instead of a volleyball (for obvious reasons) and it really works! The form is really uncomfortable because my chest gets in the way of me locking my arms together but I'm going to try and work with it and I'm going to try it with a real volleyball when I get the chance. Thanks for the great video ☺️

My Tips: • before a game apply alot of mousiterizer on your arms, reduces the pain on your arms, when the ball hits. • drink a lot of water it's important to stay hydrated • get a good 8 - 9 hours of sleep before a game because your body needs rest and prep for alot of running and physical exercise. • keep your arms as straight as possible for receiving and passing it will make it alot more accurate and easier. • communicate with your teammates, call "mine" when you want the ball • make sure all of your hair is tied up, even side fringes ( Like mine) really get in the way when your jumping around and moving your head side to side. • make sure your shoe laces are ties extra tight. That was you can move around easily, but not too tight to hurt your feet. • wear knee pads because Landing on the ground hurts, and you can dive for the ball without hesitation. • have a positive mind set, negativity will greatly impact your actions and bring you down. If you miss a ball, or accidentally let it fall, don't beat yourself up about it, everyone makes mistakes. • practice as regularly as you can, practice passing, tossing, or blocking at a wall, keep fit, practice makes perfect! I hope these tips helped, tell me how they worked out for you! These helped me alot as a beginner 💕💕

Great video as always! I was just wondering what good pre-game warm ups are, and whether or not we should stretch before playing. I know a good warm ups are really important because sometimes if I go for a light run before playing my vertical jump increases between 1 - 2 inches, but this isn't always the case. Am I just having good days or is a run not sufficient enough for a warm up. Thanks.
@xcver8 жыл бұрын
+Joface333 I actually do not think stretching is a necessity. Light movements or games increasing with tensity to get warmed up is usually sufficient for Volleyball. After that you can do a bit of stretching but as of late (in university) they do not teach it as a necessity anymore. But there is a strong debate about this and it usually turns around every 5-10 years :)

Great vids, informative, concise and yet detailed. You also cover volleyball topics/techniques that are pretty specific and that helps with refining game play overall. Im sure I echo the sentiments of many when I say that we've been waiting for GOOD volleyball tutorials on youtube for a long time! You just got yourself a sub and i'll recommend my team members to watch and sub too. What I would like is a detailed demonstration of the 6-2 volleyball system including transferring on and off the net during attack and defense, for a whole rotation. If this is possible that would be great. Also, a brief explanation (possibly with visual aids) of what you mean by the 1,4,5 (etc) attack. What do these sets look like and when are they best used. Thanks! From a technique point of view could you run through a slide attack please and also provide tips on generating heavy topspin on a smash. Many thanks!

You are doing one very wrong thing, which is digging by moving your arms. Most of the movement when digging should be done with your legs. That's because you can be much more precise controlling the ball bouncing direction when the bouncing plane is not tilting. It's much harder to predict the bouncing direction when the arms are moving hence changing the bouncing plane.

Ohhhh thank goodness....my daughter and I thought we were the only ones seeing that this guy is doing a few things wrong. When we analyzed the video in slow motion....it appears that he is also, bumping with his wrist being the central impact point.... which is exactly, what he said not to do.
@thisoneguy39355 жыл бұрын
There is quite a controversy about arm swing passing. Many are teaching this way. The reality is that in game play you will never swing your arms unless it is a "free" ball. Watch any pass receive and no one is swinging because it would launch the ball. Platform is fixed plane.yep.
