I’m surprised even after the Drake pedo 💩 Kendrick’s aura went over your head. That apology the the smartest thing Cole could have done, he removed himself from The beef beforehand, he probably knew something before we did, and was smart by backing out of the beef. He handled it perfectly as it was in person and not on a KZbin video, song, or anything. It was in person and he mentioned his spirit being bothered which will 9/10 hit home with most of us as we all f up and let anger/pride gets the best of us.

@@anonymousdogg1559I think it’s also the mind set of attack rapping. JCole got to work with KDot one on one and saw essentially how his opponent rap and works. In order to be a good attack rap u have to not only have a perfected style and system but also know your opponents abilities and system. So you can counter. JCole was probably losing sleep trying to figure out how KDot would respond and how he would counter and ended up realizing it would hurt everything he has worked so hard to create. Him backing out was mature and brilliant and he may have even been warned by other rappers to back out or KDot may have shown him what he was cooking. Either way he did the smart move.

@MorteDallAlto5 ай бұрын
That's not being sensitive, that's being cripplingly insecure. Drake, for all his performative ego and bravado, is so obviously unsure of who he is, and doesn't really know himself. And the parts he does know he doesn't like, but he lacks the depth of character to introspect and try to change it. So instead of dealing with his identity crisis, he steals and takes on the characteristics of people around him that he likes or respects in some way. He might fool some people with it some of the time, but he's fooling himself in the end because he'll never develop and mature as a unique individual, just become an increasingly emptier shell painted in someone else's colours.

Lupe is very obviously just upset that Kendrick is basically a more successful version of him. Considering he never said anything about Drake who people have been hyping as the "king" of rap even though he's an objectively worse lyricist than Kendrick, no question Lupe is simply mad that Kendrick did what Lupe failed to do, which is being considered a great in the modern era as a lyrical rapper. Sucks Lupe holds those kinda grudges and that kind of jealousy toward Kendrick because they could've made dope music together potentially. Imagine if Pusha T got upset at Kendricks control verse like that and we never got Nosetalgia?

I just looked up to see if Lupe jumped in the disses yesterday, then realized he didn't think Kendrick is that good? I still think Lupe is my favorite, or at least in top 3 for me, but I cant see how he can't see him being that good. Personal opinions, I guess, but he's also half FBA, and we have been seeing a BUNCH of non-FBA and half-FBA artists say WEIRD stuff. I still hold this to be solid since before this beef, though, there are 3 people Drake should never diss: J Cole, Kendrick and Lupe Fiasco. They would destroy him if they got serious, and we saw what Kendrick did. I believe Lupe would never have gotten that personal, since he seems to like Drake so much. Lupe seems kinda defeated more recently. He said that after all that LASERS album mess, and how the record labels put him on ice for years, he would NEVER put himself out there like that again. Basically, he isn't gonna stand up for the community or the people, if it hurts his bag. I believe he was defending Drake because he thought this was a normal beef, then he went radio SILENT after KDot released MTG, then wrote an article on how rap should grow beyond beefs and battles...like wtf? He is proving to be a straight up op. I will try not to hold that against him in his music, but it all makes sense with all the people he associated with and how he spoke of rap as an outsider: how he said rap was all that killing and gangster stuff - wrong, that's the corporate view and he never spoke of it from the inside the scope point of view. Very interesting that I started realizing this over the past 1 year, now that I'm older and now that we are having an FBA cultural awakening.
