Yea it’s an alternative there’s quirks and some more cables but you do get to output to a monitor if you wanted to have a monitor on what’s coming from your camera 🤷‍♂️

Yea this one got overlooked because of the plug in needed and no one thinks they need a pass through for a camera to be hooked up but it can be nice as a monitor when recording

This is the best video I have seen so far; however, can you please show the detail set-up with your Nikon. I have a MacBook Pro and a Nikon D7500. Your setup is similar to mine in that I am using a Nikon Z50 with the elgato cam link with a Macbook Pro 15 2019 with 32GB RAM. But I am using Ecamm Live, not OBS. My question is how do you handle fan noise? I am using a little Rode VideoMicro on the camera which is effective mic, but it picks up the fan noise. I have a lav and have not tested that yet, but just curious how you deal with the fan noise. Great video and it is helpful that you use Nikon. I found you from the Nikon class email. More Nikon centric videos would be great. Thanks.

A Lav will pick up a lot of ambient noise as well people hear the trains outside my place when I’m live. But I like that. If you want to eliminate any noise beyond your voice you need a more localized mic. A Lav is designed to pick up your voice no matter how you move your head. Usually when you see streamers or podcast hosts with a mic right on their face that’s the reason. Great video, but you didn’t discuss the chat link cable to capture gameplay and party chat sound. Can you please do a follow up? I have mine working for my streams. But the chat link cable drops sound every ten minutes or so. It’s super frustrating

I was able to set this up! The thing is with the NDI source, the gameplay audio often gets delayed from gameplay video or vice versa. I’ve tried adjusting the delay filters or offsets but it constantly changes and I can’t figure out a way to fix the delay. When I stream sometimes people say the gameplay audio is off but then it all aligns perfectly but then it goes off again. Any ideas what could cause this?

HELLO! I figured out how to fix the NDI source if it is not showing up. First: You'll need 2 Finder windows Finder Window #1: Go to your Hard Drive (it will be under Locations and will be named whatever you named your Mac) From there you'll follow this pathway Hard Drive > Applications > OBS > PlugIns (stop here and go to window 2) Finder Window #2: Here, perform a routine search (the little magnifying glass) for NDI IF you have the NDI source installed, then you should see an "obs-ndi" folder show up under the THIS MAC option (NOT RECENTS). COPY this folder (the entire thing) and PASTE it into the PlugIns folder in the original OBS application. Boot up OBS and the NDI source should now appear in your options. Best of luck with your streams, everyone!

The big issue i am fining with the HD60 S after an entire night no sleep and reading forums without solution, is that OBS Link from ElGato ports the video and audio, but the audio whether it be hdmi or analog from my ipad pro to OBS is not synced to the video passing through. Around a half second delay from PUBGM gameplay audio to video, with the audio being live but the video is lagging from perfect sync with the game's audio.... any solutions or reasons why? From my understanding the ElGato HD60 S+ supports direct passthrough from devices like ipad pro to OBS for mac.

I actually havnt touched the HD60 I only have the S but did you go to the OBS Link Preferences and make sure the two green check marks are there at the top? are you running catalina? when you plug in the device do any lights flash ? if so pay attention to the pattern/colors and check their website for what it means

from my experience one flash of Red means that the source has HDCP is enabled which is an anti piracy protocal so it doesnt allow for a feed out to stream or record a lot of macbooks have it as a given on PS4 you see me disable it on the console.. but again I dont know bout the HD60 Im sorry!.. if youre just connecting a camera Id recommend the straight up CamLink which doesnt have an HDMI pass through and just works

Check what version you’re running. There should be an updated version that’s stable if you’re running Catalina. Older versions crashed in thAT OS

Honestly I havnt seen the HD60 S discoverable in Zoom on a mac at least I think part of the issue is having to use OBS Link for OBS to make it appear as a graphics card theres no plug in I have found for Zoom as of right now if I find something Ill write you back here sorry

Hey, I have the MacBook Pro 16', I was able to get my iPhone synced with HD60 S after properly connecting. I have visual of my iPhone on the Game Capture, however I can't seem to find NDI(tm) source, it doesn't appear when I try to add the Game Capture Elgato in OBS. I have already downloaded OBS Link and have checked HD60 S however it still doesn't let me get add the source on OBS. EDIT: Do I need the OBS NDI Plug in too? When I try to download it, my MacBook says it cannot download. Is there a link you can share to download that because I believe that's the reason I don't see NDI when I launch OBS Any help in what I may doing wrong? This is the last step needed to record and it's super frustrating. Thanks!
