I must say that the livestock you filmed (cows, sheep, horses) all looked sleek and healthy. The pastures looked good, and Caucasus mountains have good wells. Poor or not, it is "rich" in nature, and this gentleman seemed to know the history. I would love to see this area's farms someday. Thank you for this beautiful video!

Perhaps I will shock you. This Assinsky gorge in the mountains, where there are ancient cities with towers, is called “Askart” in Ingush, and the Assa mountain river flows there. Askart literally means “Assy’s Compound”, This river means a lot to the Ingush. And also “Valg1ala,” where the letter “g1,” is a guttural sound that literally means “city/haven of the dead,” I don’t know English very well, but I hope I was able to convey the meaning

So few independent KZbinrs venture into these regions so the information is sparse. Kudos to that wonderful cab driver that gave you a a hell of a tour of the entire region outside the city. But nonetheless, the man you eventually interview, "(time stamp 6:20), and fortunately for me a local Ingush man Ramazan", this turned out to be an incredible interview ! ! ! His character, his calm but firm manner, his forthright answers and his humble sincere explanations about the Ingushetia history are tangible ! ! ! leaving the viewer with a valuable snapshot/understanding of the Ingush peoples' commitment to their culture in light of the historical challenges put upon them. I find the Caucasus mountains very fascinating - many various cultural groups with long histories. You met a good guide there to explain the Ingush mindset. Very interesting video and lovely drone shots of the countryside.

Yes, though not entirely honest about Chechen violence only being in response to an act of offense or attack against them first in the present tense. As in other Muslim cultures, there is also a willingness to see this in a historical context--i.e., if such-and-such people _ever_ offended or attacked my people, then it is our right to retaliate or exact revenge, etc., when and where we choose. It was interesting to listen to Americans be completely mystified when Saddam Hussein would talk about events of a thousand years ago as if they were still relevant for being responded to in the present.

Thank you for the video. Alot of the history reminds me of our own history in the U.S. The 1944 deportation of the Ingush people reminds me of the Indian Removal act and the Trail of Tears my own people suffered.

I heard and read a lot about the history of the Indians, and I know that America is the indigenous land of the Indians, and I also watched many documentaries about the genocide of the Indians and I was surprised at the cruelty of people towards the indigenous population. Peace to you from Ingushetia and all the people of the Indians, if I had the opportunity to visit America, the first thing I would do is come to the Indians and want to shake your hand because I know how much misfortune they brought you and I also like the national clothes of the Indians and their love for animals, you are simple and conscientious people people who hunted animals and protected them with their families!

Well, these deportations have completely different reasons. If the genocide of American Indians is something obvious in many ways. Then in the USSR, Stalin (Dzhugashvilli) and his right punitive hand Beria, Georgians, came from the Caucasus and they personally made decisions about which peoples were “not reliable” and whose elites could side with Hitler when Hitler decided to go to the Caucasus to the oil fields, which were considered in Germany key and priority. I’m not justifying Stalin, it’s just that this had nothing to do with the Russians at that time. Decisions were made personally by Stalin and Beria, immigrants from the Caucasus, born in the Caucasus, who were well aware of the customs and morals of the peoples of the Caucasus.

In your prior video, I mentioned my culture shock on how marriage ceremonies are performed in other parts of the world, and I received some angry replies that my opinions were not welcome. However, the act of being shocked can’t be classified as an opinion but rather a human feeling that is unsolicited and unexpected. I think, in my quest to better understand the world and life in general, it is necessary to explore and try to understand how people operate within their own culture and environment. My family is from the appalachian mountains in the US. Often described as the poorest area in the country and backwards for keeping old traditions. I've heard many appalachians say they'd rather be poor at home in the mountains, than have some money somewhere else. We also always make sure the oldest has the best seat in the house and if there's only os many seats, whoever is the oldest gets them. The rest of us will stand or sit on the floor. Appalachia was pretty isolated until the 90s also when the internet came around and opened up the outside world to them. I brought my sister in law down to appalachia and she was so surprised by how nice strangers were and how accommodating, because people have a feeling they should stay out of appalachia because they might get shot for being an outsider. Lots of similarities here.

I've only heard about Ingushetia about a decade ago when life was very violent there and even then I was impressed by their honesty and bravery. I am happy that life has calmed down for Ingush people. Some conquerors like russians (or chinese or old european states ) were content with just ruling over other nations .
