The concept of poor is not the same in many cultures as it is in Western Europe and North America! People are not poor simply because they don't have a fancy house and fancy possessions. When people have a decent and functional house to live in, food, healthcare and education, necessities, family, friends, community, etc., they are not poor!

I traveled with my brother and I remember my Mother crying before we set off on our holiday thinking she’d never see us again. Lol. I was 21 years old. Stalin move around many ethnic group all over Russia...mostly because they do not want that particular ethnic group to rised up and rebel, not because they look like something else...that is why he relocated many Crimean tartars to Siberia because if the Tartar stay at Crimea that are near to Turkey they might rise up and rebel. Same with Circassia people who forcefully kick out from Circassia and many today like in Syria and Turkey. Only the Chechen stay and fought long enough until the Russian gave up lol.

I am also amazed at how great she looks for being close to 80. I would've guessed barely 60 as her age if not for the details revealed in the convo.

Great work as usual, but gotta say your closing thoughts really resonated with me. Sure, we often hear that kind of thing in our daily lives, but the way you and your aunt put it was exactly how I needed to hear it right now. Thus, I thank you twice!

I love your videos, so informative, and showing the history, true nature of the people. The West depicts a view, an agenda, and paints a very dark picture of the Central Asian and Russian people

Eli, that's terrific you have a Koren friend in Tashkent. You're such a friendly person. I'm wondering if you actually have a friend in all 195 countries of the world. As for Uzbekistan, I knew nothing of its history. It's interesting to learn these things. There's so much we are not taught in school. But you always point out the good things about people and that most people everywhere are friendly and want to be helpful.

Ohhhh soo you're Tatar!!!!❤❤❤ I knew it🥰🥰🥰 I understood clearly the word "kızlar" which means girls in Turkish too and "yaşta (yashta)" which means at that age. Tatar language isn't that far of Turkish then. I'm very happy I came across your IG account😊

What a wonderful woman. she said "I accept my life just the way it is " That sounds like a truly inspiring perspective on life. Accepting oneself and being content with what we have is a powerful mindset. By the way, Eli did you understand Uzbek easyly?
