Eliminate Graph Interference with a Minn Kota Filter.

Just some clarification for anyone that is looking for this part. It does not ship with the Ultrex, actually Minn Kota does not offer this part at all. However after much research it does ship from Hummingbirds website. It is included with Mega imaging transducer brackets, but you can order it separately by using part #490482-1 Cable Choke.

Humminbird does have it on their website. They charge $24.99 for the cable choke and want $12.00 to ship it. I am so tired of having to buy 'extras' for Humminbird and Minn Kota products, especially when the shipping cost is half the price of the product. This should have come with the Ultrex, period.

OK; the I just bought a Helix 7 and the documentation states to install the choke on the cranking battery. My trolling motor and graph are powered by a separate battery. It seems intuitive to install the choke on the trolling motor battery and two have stated such in these comments but you do not disobey the manufacturer's instructions without good reason. Upon which battery have the rest of you installed this?

The feed back comes through the charger that's why it goes on cranking battery...

I called Minn Kota 3 times and 3 different reps had never heard of this item??

Never had this issue on my Motorguide but as soon as I switched to Minnkota, this noise problem has started. Thinking back 25years ago when I rented a Minnkota, I had this problem. Seems like even in 2020, Minnkota has not been able to solve this problem!!

OK guys, if you have an onboard charger then you install this on your cranking battery. Why? Because this will filter out the noise coming from your trolling motor batteries from entering your cranking battery which supplies you graphs.

I'd say pull the fuses out of the charger lines to the starting battery and give it a shot before wasting tine and money on this filter. If it's still froggy without the fuses the charger isn't the issue.

If you run a 3 Bank charger it goes between the charger cords and your starting battery. You should have your graph hooked to your starting battery.

@@westleycagle4745 no you should never use your starting battery for graphs they are stating batteries you have to use deep cycle for all electronics. #fishingitguy

MY CHARGER IS ONLY HOOKED TO MY TROLLING MOTOR BATTERIES AND ONLY TROLLING MOTOR TO IT. ULTREX 80LB BUILT IN MEGA GET DOWN LINES WHEN HIT PEDDLE POWER. SO THIS SHOULDNT BE MY ISSUE.. BRAND NEW ULREX AND NEW HELI7 7 G2N. POWER RAN OPPOSITE SIDES OF BOAT FOR EACH.

Yes it is the chargers carry voltage, Disconnect the charger from your trolling batteries tape the end put your boat in the water and test for lines with no charger hooked up to your trolling batteries only. This choke has to go to the battery that your graphs are plugged into or it does nothing. #fishingitguy
