Eliminate Ladder Noise

Hello! Welcome to Schoen Roofing.
Ladder noise is one of the most annoying sounds a contractor has to deal with.
At Highway speeds it can become almost unbearable!
I have had many calls end because the caller could not hear me over the noise.
I run a 4 ladder setup on my ladder rack and there was a time when only one had acoustic treatment. It was awful.
I hope you enjoy the video and encourage you to treat your ladders to save your sanity.

It works!!! I just tried this on a 20' extension ladder and the whistle is gone! Time to do the other two. Thanks brother.

I'll save everyone some time: Don't watch the 8 minute video Pool noodle or pipe insulation foam. Just a little bit stuffed in each rung on each side You can use spray foam, but it'll be tough get out, ie of you want the rung hole clear to hold the brush handle

Ahhhhh man! Your taking all the fun out of watching an awesome video! Do not use spray foam as it can trap water in the rung.

Another video showed using spray foam to fill the holes. I drove across the country with a Little Giant ladder on my Rav4 roof. The noise was horrendous! And the Little Giant doesn't have all those side holes. I thought it was the metal vibrating, which also seemed to make the roof itself vibrate. I'm looking at getting a rooftop carrier bag so I have room inside my vehicle to put the ladder. Gas mileage will still take a hit but I can't imagine the noise will be as bad.
