Since 1982 and my 1st PCT thru attempt, the trail has always been there simmering through decades of parenting 6 kids. Re-igniting the flame in 2018/19 and watching your (& others) videos Elina, i finally set foot on the Trail again on March 12, 2020, only to be forced to retreat back to Oz 10 days later. And finally returning to the 🇺🇸 in ‘21 (before dubious entry mandates came into force) I was able to complete my end-to-end continuous footpath goal Since then I have thought of the PCT every day (yes, Every Day!) Now, After three years of helping care for dying relatives, as i dictate this I am on my regular 10km,10kg training hike and it’s exactly 299 days, until I start again at Campo on the spring equinox. OMG can’t wait. Thanks for your videos Elina. Your ‘People’ video is the one I always shared to anyone wanting to know about the Trail Clint🇦🇺

I have seen many PCT and thuhiking videos in the past. Your PCT video series is what really changed my life. Last year I quit my job and thruhiked the PCT SOBO. I changed my outlook on life ever since I returned to normal society. As a result, next year I plan to quit my job again to finish the last 800 miles I have of the AT from Georgia to Virginia. Then end my triple crown goal till I’m older. Then go over to Switzerland to meet back up with my friends I met on the PCT last year. This time not to hike, but to catch up and explore with my girlfriend. Until that time I will continue hiking 30-60 mile days in VT, NH, and ME. As well as running more ultra Marathons. I just ran a 60 mile race a few weeks ago. I want to thank you for expanding my mind and changing my life. Without your series I would have never done what I did.

I watched the whole series 5 years ago and randomly stumbled across this video today! I remember when I watched the series for the first time, I felt like I knew everyone so well. It was so good to see them all and hear what they're up to. And I echo what everyone else has commented: watching you hike the PCT made me feel like I could take on anything hard and come out the other side. I watched the series when I was studying hard and struggling to get into medical school, and now, here I am, five years later finishing my second year of med school! Hard things can be achieved. Thank you so much, Elina. Your work, your challenges, your beauty....it's all such a gift and I am just happy to be able to partake in a small piece of it.

Greatly appreciate you for inspiring and continuing to inspire so many of us to say yes to the call of adventure!

HI Elina. I recently discovered a song which made me think of you, because you're great at incorporating music into your videos (thanks to you I discover Prince of Spain's "Explore"). The song is "Hi Ren", and to me, in regards to you, is it's a song of camaraderie between creative people who have the courage to persist and share their meaningful work with the world. On another level, it's about the struggle of being human and how to gracefully navigate life. The song popped off a year ago, so you might have already heard it, but if not I think you'll find it moving and inspiring. I hope life treats you kindly and best wishes.

can only speak as somebody who's section-hiked (not thru-hiked) parts of both. but it's kind of hard to go from the grand vistas of the PCT to the green tunnel of the AT. (and also personally I'm slightly scared of the ticks of the AT and getting lyme disease)

Not much to look at on the AT. You're just in the middle of the woods the whole time and the scenery is just about the same the entire time. On the PCT you travel through several different environments, sometimes in the same day. And the views are simply on another level.
