Or people who just review literally anything they get sent or buy off amazon and barely even use the product themselves. The whole point with my videos is that if I enjoy something and think there’s something to be said I’ll post it. If I find a better or different product I’ll make sure I update the old video title saying “don’t buy I found a better product” and post the better link. I think most big product reviewers these days are so swamped with “please talk about this product I sent you and say good things and I’ll pay you” that they just make a high quality video but sometimes don’t cover many specific details that people want to know about. Even if I ever do paid reviews I’ll always say the good and bad or decline the offer.

I’ve had both versions since release and both work fine after literal years of heavy use. I’ve seen so many of these videos and I’m bewildered. A lot of people have had countless issues with both versions and went through multiple controllers including my buddy. Then there are people like me who just seem to have gotten lucky with no issues. The only change I made was I swapped out the top paddles on the Elite 2 with the 20 dollar squared off Scuff ones and it plays like a dream now. The Stock top paddles felt too small, the bottom ones sit perfectly with my hands and the Scuff ones are nice and wide and give more to hold onto. Just feels more secure and less floaty in the hands. I recommend checking out those Scuff paddles though. They’re not the long straight ones, they’re similar to the elite ones but not as long, they’re raised up to be closer to your fingers and the pull is more crisp and has better feedback so you actually feel yourself clicking the button. They’re not as soft and sensitive as the normal ones. Unless you like that kind of thing, but I like my paddles to have a more resistance than give because I can grip it more without pressing any buttons, especially when my hands get sweaty and comp games.

I know which paddles you’re talking about. I actually have a pair but I like the default ones a little better. Maybe I’ll switch back to the others and see if I can get used to them. I know how you feel. It seems like people either have 900 problems with the elite or get lucky and have no issues. I’ve experienced it both ways where I had to go through 5 series 1 controllers to get a reliable one and then with the series 2 I got one that’s been going strong since launch with no issues.

Thanks for the into. It was my birthday a few days ago and my girl got me this controller, and since its so expensive ive been observant/paranoid of mine having issues. But logically its not supposed to since before having it all i had was a 5 year old stock xbox one controller that works perfectly till this day! Im gonna keep testing it and see if its me just not used to it, or if there is a genuine issue.

VenularLyric 6 what exactly do you believe is wrong with it? My AXYB buttons did stick a little when I first opened it but after a good amount of pressing them they work fine now. I believe the holes cutout for the buttons are a little tight from the factory so they needed to be pressed to loosen them up a bit. That’s the only issue I have had so far

my fellow elites take care of your controller use the case keep it there when not in use don’t EVER drop it or let it fall off of a surface... im getting my elite back today from a long month long repair process. the left bumper was not as responsive as when i first got it for whatever reason. i leave you with this advice... happy gaming 👍

Just bought mine today to go with my Series X. I wanted to get the full optimized gaming experience. So far it’s a dope controller. It’s a huge transition tho since I’ve been using the stock controller from the Xbox one to the stock controller to the Series X. It’s a bit of getting use to. But I love how brutally honest your review was. Made me realize I made a good purchase.

Actually if you do some research the Elite Series 2 has plenty of problems with the bumpers as well as every other button. There are even specific people with videos showing how to fix the bumpers.

I'm a fan of the taller domed from the original elite as well, kinda bummed to see they aren't included. Although, I did discover that Scuf sells an analog pack for the series 2 including a taller convex stick. Definitely gonna be checking these out. Thanks for the solid feedback!

It is more affordable than the Xbox Elite series 2 controller, but still looks like a decent pro controller. My question is, how long will it last with no issues?

What games do you usually play? If you break the cost down into dollars per hour and you spend even 100hrs gaming with the controller which isn’t unreasonable for a casual gamer then the controller cost around $2 an hour to enjoy. If you manage to spend 500hrs with it then it’s .50c an hour so the more you use it the more worth your investment.

Just ordered one, im excited. I hope it improves my accuracy. I had the base controller and I finally bought a new one as the base controller was having insane drift causing extreme difficulty to play.

Take some time to really tweak the joystick settings and play for about 20 minutes every time you change something. Eventually you’ll find the perfect setup. For me I made the joystick on the right a little tight so I can pull down against the tension to help with recoil control without over doing it and aiming at the floor.

I believe it is ever so slightly smaller than the first elite controller. You may be able to confirm that online somewhere but it definitely feels smaller in the hand.

This was one expensive piece of input device that I had triple thought about before throwing money on and was not sure if buyer's remorse wasn't going to bite me in the ass after a while.. About a year later I can say that those were money well spent and have zero regrets of buying it. I'm not even playing games very often, mostly the occasional weekday or maybe even less often than that. Still worth every penny. Do I still think it's overpriced ? Definitely!. Sadly.. But.. still worth the upgrade over a standard controller as far as I'm concerned.

I bought one at BB and it was used. Exchanged it, opened it in front of the employee and it was used. I went through the 4 they had in stock and all were used. I ended up buying a used one from Amazon for 120 (like new condition) and it smells like wd 40. The smells even transfers to my hand. Returned it, bought a cheap generic one, and I'm happy.

great feel, grips are on where they don't fall off. 260$ Canadian and sent it away twice in the whole 90 day warranty........... still has drift, right bumper is almost just broken 6 months after the warranty now is broken have to remap a bottom switch now. i would give it a $$$$$ for price, $$$$ for feel $ for it being made with crap parts

I have an elite controller but getting a free replacement since mine came with a faulty bumper other then that no problems sending it in a few day I had it for 6 months and I think it just wore down and it’s unresponsive I have dropped it a few times but has definitely made my gaming better

Never had problem with the series 1 until the rubber grips started to lose strength and eventually came off, buttons wise has been fine, deciding whether to go for the series 2 as the series 1 has been nothing but great to me. But been also looking at a Scuff controller, just don’t want to regret getting either one and hating it for the price they are worth.

The elite series 2 is way better than the scuff IMO. By the time you fully upgrade the scuff with options to match the series 2 it’s over $195 I believe. The scuff has horrible customer service I’ve been told and everyone that uses one on KZbin only does so because they are sponsored or trying to copy their favorite pro gamer. Get the series 2 and get a warranty and if you don’t love it just return it. Also with scuff you don’t get multiple sets of joysticks, you have to pick one set and you’re stuck with it. It doesn’t even come with a freaking case for $200 and the elite 2 has that awesome charging puck you can use with or without the case. You don’t get two d pads, you don’t get the paddles that you can switch around and move and have them up top or bottom or two on one side, scuff doesn’t have tension controlled joysticks that I know of and no amazing Xbox central app to customize every aspect of the electronics of the button mapping and sensitivity of trigger pull and joystick movement.

@@BaxterretxaB That’s what I dislike about Scuf, any and every extra is like £10, which just increases and before you know it it’s like £250+. I’ve been watching constant videos on KZbin to see what’s best for money wise, and I do think all evidence points towards the Elite series 2. Considering it treats me as good as the series 1 did I think it’d be money well spent.

Exactly scuff has really really cool colors (love the moon surface option) but if you add every custom color part to match you’re eyes water at the price. If you get the series 2 let me know how you like it. If you use my link I will get a small percentage but if you don’t want to order off Amazon I completely understand I personally would order from Best Buy or Amazon because they give no questions asked warranty returns.

mines coming in today 😁 my original elite is on it's last legs. I ran out the warranty and had to pop it open a number of times to repair the buttons that are under the controller. granted, I've dropped it a few times. I'll be babying this new one as much as this dude is lol. p.s I'm pretty sure you're ment to take the thumbsticks off before you pack it in the case 😅

If we’re supposed to take the sticks off then why does it (A. Come with them installed in the case and (B. Not have a space to hold all 3 pairs of sticks? There are only spots to hold 2 sets. I love those paddles. I play fortnite and it is definitely nice to have a jump button mapped to the paddle so you don't have to take your hand off the joystick. paddles are good for really any shooter

Scuf Gaming came out with Thumbsticks and paddles for the Elite 2. I'm enjoying the Thumbsticks. Better quality than their sticks for the Elite 1. My only gripe is that those paddles don't allow the controller to sit on it's dock when you charge it. I use them on my Elite 1 instead.

I have my new small paddles flipped upside down and opposite (they fit better that way) and then the old short ones also flipped so they are on the top. The little notches will get in the way of you don’t flip them a certain way when you mix and match. Let me know what you end up doing and I’ll try it for myself and see if I like it.

One month out of warranty and my RB stopped working, when i popped it open i was horrified to see that the inside is pretty much the same as a standard controller wich cost about one third of the price. Yes the controller feels awesome but $180 to break one month out of warranty, you can buy 3 standard controllers for that.

Couldn’t agree more. I think they changed a few very minor things but like I said for this money I should see a lot more aluminum and carbon fiber components inside or at least some plastic that’s higher quality than McDonald’s happy meal toy haha. When I said I think I’ve been proven wrong it was mostly because this controller lasted much longer than my series 1 controller however I guarantee you I can chuck my day one Xbox controller at a wall and pick it up and finish playing (don’t do that but I could) and I guarantee if I did that with either elite it would be destroyed.....that’s sad for how expensive it is. Controller does what it needs to do for me but I hate that there are bad eggs out there that give people a crappy experience especially for this price.

Mine had stick drift after about a month and then 3 months later, up response on the left stick is unresponsive. I guess I’m lucky it was still under factory warranty.

Maybe I take the least used ones out and put them in a safe place and then I can have room to store the ones I use. Right, there is such a wide range of reviews. You either get an out of the box controller with stick drift and any other issues or you get one that will last you ages. I guess that’s why Microsoft had a call back or something for quality control.

Lots of these aftermarket premium controllers get drift at some point. It sucks but that’s why you just get a warranty and enjoy it until it goes bad and get a new one under the warranty and repeat as needed.

That’s actually a good idea. My only worry that that would also add pressure to the precious joysticks haha. I just use it to maybe stick a shorter usbc charging cable up in the net. The one that comes with the controller is nice but it’s so long if you’re only using it to charge the controller you could get away with a much shorter less bulky cord and keep that in the top.

Its actually quite slippery. They've put all this cross hatching on to supposedly improve grip, but the material is very slippery, particularly when it's brand new. Some sweat and grime and its not so bad now.

It's been 9 month and oh boi. I love this controller I really do, but... my triggers started to feel like they were rubbing and grinding on something (later I did open it and fix it) and now both my bumpers are really struggling and not responding. I've tried everything from smoothing out the plastic bits I've tried taking them out I've even put little cut outs of a playing card in there witch has worked the best but it still doesn't work very well. This controller is a very nice controller in my opinion but it does have its problems and if you are thinking of getting it I would take these issues into consideration. (Last repairs are not cheap by any means)

I can see what you mean with the triggers. When I have the locks engaged they just feel odd and I have noticed my bumpers just this week starting to actually register a double press sometimes. If this continues I’m going to try to document it and make another video.

I’m a competitive gamer playing Warzone and my Elite 2 lasted 5/6 months before major Stick Drift on the left thumb. Running/tactical sprint destroys the sticks..just got my elite 2 replaced via warranty, feels great. Make sure to pay Microsoft $20 for 3 year warranty for unlimited replacements.

Yeah that's basically any gaming controller which is why I love using the elite controller and I map the sprint buttons to my back paddles prolonging the controller life took some getting used to but now its second nature, I can never go back to using a regular controller anymore

In case you havent ran into this yet. Microsoft only replaces it 1 time under that 20 dollar subscription. I talked to a rep and she tol dme unlimited but then talked to another who showed me the fine print and you only get one. Even though you pay for two years you could be out of a warranty a lot sooner than that.

I opened the controller and soldered smd mice switches on the ABXY contacts to make them mechanical. If you press the face buttons softly on any Xbox controller, they don't respond on some angles, it's horrible.
