Thanks for the video! As a person with 1 hand (2nd hand is palm/thumb only) this controller has been a fantastic addition to my new dreamachine. I've always enjoyed xbox controllers as my left hand is larger so they are very comfortable. I usually use my knee to shoot or use the right trigger, if i use my right hand' i have to take away from the right thumbstick and right buttons. Man im lucky that my hand can do everything on the front right, except the R1/R2. The paddles though im not used to it alow me to not have to take away from using xyba/thumbstick. I took out the right rear paddles. This thing is premium and makes it easy for me!

Pro Tip: for the back paddles they are all interchangeable. You can put any of the paddles in any of the 4 locations. For example if you take the larger bottom paddle and move it to the other side it will point upward and protrude out a bit more than normal. I do this bc the position is a bit more natural for my hand and having a bit of extra surface feels better.

This is a great & concise review. I’ve had one since the Elite Series 2 launched and it’s been great. A stuff people don’t highlight is that you can self repair/replace the controller parts as Microsoft sells replacement parts & has service manuals online for the more approachable work. I see right to repair as a bonus personally so it only helps my love for the controller despite some of the flaws it has.

One thing that I feel most reviews aren't addressing is the bumpers going bad and stick drift. Both of these issues are super common on the elite series 2. I haven't had my elite series 2 for even a year and my RB doesn't work at all and my left stick drifts forward. To my surprise after some research it turns out this is a super common issue with this controller. For a 200$ controller it's kinda bullshit that X box uses such cheap hardware
@lash38732 жыл бұрын
Same dude. 3 controllers. Bumpers gradually stopped working on all of them in under a year. Long term durability is a joke for an almost $200 controller.
@GD1_32 жыл бұрын
Yup, same on mine it's a game of luck with the bumbers hoping it registers or not, one of my back paddle ports doesn't work either I barely use them. It's kept in the case and we'll maintained. For 150-200 these issues should not happen if your playing normally
@lash38732 жыл бұрын
On the upside. Microsoft has increased the warranty on it from 6 months to a year from date of purchase. Definitely take advantage of that as soon as something starts to go wrong while it's valid. It's a hassle having to ship it to them but they fix/or replace it and send it back fairly quickly free of charge.
@E-13372 жыл бұрын
@@lash3873 they wont repair it if theres any cosmetic blemishes (scratches, etc.) because they dont actually repair your controller, they send you a refurbished one that they have lying around. so if they cant ship yours to someone else later on, they just simply wont honor the warranty.

@@E-1337 I think they've gotten more lenient as far as that goes. The first couple times I got a refurbished controller like you said but the last time they just gave me a brand new controller. I love my series 2 controller. Unfortunately mine came with the infamous issue of bumpers not working. Recently sent it for repair. Bc of this I can’t really recommend it unless you find it with a nice discount. Everything else, best controller out there hands down. The level of hardware and software customization is insane. UPDATE: got my controller back. This time they used ALPS bumpers instead of the Chinese no-brand bumpers Microsoft uses. So far no problems at all. Best controller I've owned.
@Kazasia-_-2 жыл бұрын
Where do you take it for repairs and how much is it?
@richboss_2 жыл бұрын
@@Kazasia-_- I live in Mexico and it was a repair shop up north called ElTallerDeAlex. Whole process took about two weeks. And was about $30 shipping costs included. But if you want to sent it for repair just make sure they use ALPS buttons. Those are the "official" ones. They explained to me the reason why the bumpers on the elite series 2 are so bad is bc Microsoft doesn't use ALPS, they put on some cheap Chinese buttons. They actually sent me back the faulty ones and in fact they're some no-brand bumpers. Just make sure they use ALPS wherever you send it and that they know how to solder correctly so you get a clean job without damaging the motherboard or any other components. It's been a week and a half since my controller arrived and so far no problems at all. As I said, best controller I've ever used.

My use case for the paddles is in games where I want to keep a button held down a majority of the time. My textbook example is Elden Ring, where you want to be running a lot of the time. Keeping the B button held down all the time gets uncomfortable after a multi-hour session, but the paddles just feel like I'm holding the controller so it doesn't give my hands any fatigue. Plus, it lets me use the left thumbstick and the B button (or any button) at the same time with only one hand, which is nice when I'm traveling a long way and want to use my other hand to check my phone or take a drink.

One thing i do have to say about the non replacable batteries, its not that we play 40 hour sessions, but when you leave the controller after racking up 39 hours and 30 minutes, next time you pick it up you run out and have to recharge, which is why i love my swappable rechargable batteries. One set is always full so i never have downtime
@SilverRyuu2 ай бұрын
Basically this. If you're someone who doesn't mind playing wired or who always remembers to charge their controller than non replaceable batteries are better. Replacable batteries are good because it's easy to have a setup where you have a couple of fully charged batteries so if one pair dies you can just swap it and continue playing wirelessly. There's also the fact that batteries degrade over time/charge cycles so those 40 hours won't be 40 hours in a couple of years if you're a heavy user

I absolutly love the look and feel of this controller, but ive been through at least 4 (with best buy warrenty) because of the stupid bumper double inputs and other issues.

Word dude SAME! I traded 4packs of Juul pods for my boys brand new elite controller! He had the warranty 👍 I then traded it in when it got drift.. bought another warranty.. then again.. & again & again!? Then the warranty price got jacked up.. & I just didn’t get there in time to trade it in 1 last time (Fing BB Corona hours messed me up..) I had drift issues on all of them, but first 2 times I traded it in was bc of the bumpers also. Really wack how they can’t even make their High End controller not broken..

Bad for health…? Whatchu mean?
@mysteriousrock0002 жыл бұрын
definitely something I'm interested in getting in the future my biggest problem is Stick drift ive seen people having mixed results in how bad the stick diffrent can be. Especially since I'm have to get another controller in the morning of writing this since my Controller is only about a year old and the analog stick on the right just randomly will start veering to the right. cant play most game since i play with Max Sensitivity its very annoying!
@The_Fool_Above_The_Sky Жыл бұрын
Yeah, from what I understand, you either have to stick with a risky controller like this where the stick drift might start within a few months. Or get hall effect controllers from third party brands. Those are also risky because, well, their third party.

Razer Wolverine Ultimate is better than Elite 2 imo, and $100 on Amazon. The ABXY buttons are much better, feel like mouse clicks. It has trigger stops, and 6 reprogrammable buttons. Very good quality controller highly recommend for anyone sick of replacing their $180 controller.

Agree. Love the Razer Wolverine super responsive ABXY buttons AND M1 & M2 buttons for shooters. Even the underside buttons are in a better position compared to the elite. No more accidental paddle touching when gripping the controller under stress. Only downside, and its the only one is the Razer isnt wireless.

I swear by my Elite S2, I’ll never go back to a regular controller by choice. It is absolutely superior in every way. Unfortunately so many people just think it’s crap because all the problems with the Elite S1 and I know they were having some quality assurance issues for a while but they’ve since corrected the issue and current production models are very well made. The product is worth the price imo. People just want something for nothing and it’s really annoying. I use mine at my desk less then a few feet away from my Xbox and I’ve always used it wired. I never use wireless. I have noticed though that if your controller is connected to your Xbox with the USB-C cord when firmware updates get pushed out it does it automatically. I can’t remember the last time I had to wait for an update to install.

The higher resistance is better for aiming and being able to handle super high sensitivities. If you are willing to spend this much on a controller then maybe you are like me and game a lot. The long stick / high resistance has given me terrible chronic pain in my thumb's knuckle, and it goes all the way up the muscle / ligaments till it reaches my elbow. So I have learned to use the lowest tension possible and after a couple of days I am just as lethal in most scenarios. Still goof a little bit here and there due it feeling a lot different. I adjusted the deadzone, look speed, and ADS speed in game and it feels great. I have less pain already only after a couple days. So just keep this in mind when setting up your controller.

The case is for that. So that the dust does not go into the Pad. This causes a lot of problems in the new Pads from Microsoft, the dust blocks the analog stick. Therefore, you should stick to the Pad in the Case while charging. If you don't do it in 5-7 months, the character in the game will move in different directions by itself

My Elite Series 2 has a rough feel when sprinting in the top left direction, and the trigger stop thing, hair trigger thing, whatever it's called broke off, so now it's just a spike, I also still have the piece that covered it, should I use my warranty to fix it? Note: the hair trigger still works, it's just slightly harder to use and can hurt my finger more easily.
