Hey everyone, Walmart has a really good warranty that costs $15 for two years. You can send it back for any reason and get the entire cost (plus tax) of the controller back in an E-gift card. I had my controller break twice so I traded it in and I bought a new one along with a new warranty. In fact, I didn't want my warranty to expire so right before my two year mark from the last time I purchased the controller, I traded it in for a new one and just re-upped the warranty. All in all, I've spent about $150 plus $45 extra for 3 elite controllers and I just sent mine back to get a gift card to put towards the Elite 2 controller. Will only cost me $30 to upgrade plus $15 for a two year warranty. I don't ever go to Walmart except for my controller/warranty needs. I'll keep it for close to 2 years and then trade it in for a brand new controller before the warranty expires and pay another $15 to re-up

I managed to get my hands on the series 2. And it is definitely worth the buy since the holidays are coming around. The controller has held up super well, the new trigger locks help extremely since I play R6 and timing is crucial in that game. The paddles being shorter helps since I won’t accidentally throw a nade at myself. Plus, the presets are great. I didn’t upgrade from Elite series 1 since I heard a lot of negative feedback. But from playing on a regular controller to playing on the series 2, you can tell the difference in your gaming. So, whether you play on the Elite series 1 or just a regular controller, then I would 100% recommend the Series 2
@jaymw59404 жыл бұрын

One thing on the Series 2 also : When shortening the triggers, you don't need to customize the trigger's sensitivity in order to be at 100% Instead, the Series 2 does it for you If you shorten the trigger, it'll automatically scale to the trigger being shortened, unlike Series 1 More profiles, and the ability to connect to almost any device... And the paddles are shorter and more clicky (Still need to get used to that, but overall it fixed the miss clicking anytime you'd put the controller on your bed or your leg)

Anyone with an Elite 2 notice the sticks getting loose? My original elite had an issue where the plastic mounting on the bottom of the analog sticks wore down and they had alot of sway that ruined the whole experience. I had to replace the joysticks with better quality ones which took away the magnetic switching feature.

I honestly abuse my series 1 Elite way more than I should and it's lasted me about a year now surprisingly with no big issues outside of the left stick drifting now and then (which is an issue I always seem to have with Xbox controllers since all the back during the 360 era lol). Very solid comparison, definitely'll consider getting the 2 when the wear on my current one becomes noticeable, never considered upgrading cause to me the 2 just looked darker with a bit more grip but the stick tension setting seems like a great QoL change I never knew I needed

I've have three series 1 and all of them has had the grip rubber drift to the point where it was better just to peel it off. No other problems at all other then grip. Series 2 looks great except for the battery option. While new it might be ok but after some charges I'm sure it weakens. If battery degrades then what option do you have other then buy another controller?

My X1 Elite came with a Gen1 and I bought an additional controller. The only reason I bought the thing was for the short throw triggers. Not having swappable batteries on the Gen2 is a dealbreaker. That basically says, "Once it breaks buy a new one." Gen1, I can just run Eneloop AAs and have a stash ready to go whenever.

Well I see your comment 11months later if it’s to late I’m sorry, the V2 bumpers are horrid and very easy to suddenly go unresponsive or break, almost 200$ for a piece of junk, if I were you I’d stick with the classic controllers.

Issues i've had with the series 1: first was the cable port, so i took it back under warranty. Then i had an issue with the hair trigger locks and the right thumb stick where i couldn't get the full 360 degree rotation. And i had an issue with the port again. So again i replaced under warranty that i have paid extra for (insurance). After a while my charge port went again so i decided to use normal AA batteries and not bother, recently the rubber grips have just started to come off and the lower left paddle has a lot of play (slack) before it reaches the green buttons compared to the others. I use all the paddles constantly for Forza and FPS games.

My original elite controller fried right outside of the warranty. I loved the black rubberized paint. It was a bit of a let down when the white version came out and it was not a rubberized paint like the black model

After owning both. I will first say that i wanted them both to work. The concept is there. But the biggest issue with Xbox hardware. Is durability and longevity. Neither one held up over time for hard core gaming. First thing that went on both of them for me. Was the grips. They both started to peel. For some reason the elite series 2 had a cheaper feel. I kinda liked the way the 1 felt in my hands more plus the simplicity. But the 2 has more features and technology.
@randomtube82264 жыл бұрын
Now I just use a standard Xbox one controller. Latest generation currently out. With kontrol freaks thumb grips. The elite controllers seem to have the same lifespan as standard latest generation controllers. At least with standard controllers they are more easy to replace. Since they aren't as expensive. Really wish that the elite 2 controller was the controller that came with the xbox series x. As of now its bee awhile since iv seen it in stock anywhere. Maybe they discontinued it. Not sure.

If anyone else has a problem with the paddles like that, the easy fix is to either put the tiniest bit of superglue inside the dimple and let it solidify, or to put an ever so small piece of thick electrical type tape on top.

I know this video is several months old, but I stumbled across it during intensive google searches. Can you tell me if the buttons/triggers on the series 2 are the same as those on the series 1? I am trying to decide if I want to purchase the series 2 and it basically depends on whether it can be customized with different buttons. I am unable to find any button kits for the series 2, but there is a limitless supply of buttons for the series 1.

Just got my series 2 in the mail yesterday. I've used my OG Elite controller since launch. Granted I had to mod/fix the thing less then 6 months after I bought it due to the absolute shit bumper design, and build quality. It still offered the customization, and ease of use (one you repaired it lol) that I recommended it. Best controller I've owned, and I collect em. It just had a major design flaw that was overlooked. Even with the best modded controllers on the market you can't get the in depth customization along with support. As for the series 2... It's been 24 hours, and I can already tell this is everything the original one needed. The build quality alone is night, and day. It just feels super durable. The added Bluetooth/Battery/Full Mapping/extra steps/tension all fill in the gaps the original Elite left. If you're gonna spend >100$ on a controller then dish out the extra 30$. That 30$ will give you so much more. This isn't like the iPhone where you're paying a premium for some gimmick this really feels like the controller of the future. Edit: One more thing I wanted to add is that while the battery will eventually loose it's quality that there will most definitely be a way to replace it when that happens. I doubt it's gonna be an issue for quite a few years minus a few unlucky ones here, and there. Controllers don't use as much power as you think, and with the ability to tone down, or even eliminate the vibration, and LED lighting we'll probably be ready for a new controller by the time it becomes a hassle. Here's to hoping my optimism isn't gonna bite me in the ass haha
